I'm getting this way too. I blame all the people I was crammed in with on the train on Sunday. I always get ill when I'm off work anyway - I feel like retracting my two days' holiday for tomorrow and Thursday and phoning in sick instead!

Hope you two are feeling better soon!
I've got a horrible cough but I'm counting myself lucky that I can still breathe. Being snotty is just so pointless!
Got lots of parcels today, yaay! Putting Muppets on in a bit while I wrap stuff upClearing out the spaces where we just kind of dumped stuff when we moved in atm, it's quite boring. Just trying to pass the time before my Sister gets here for ice cream and Ugly Betty!

Hope you all feel better soon!
I managed to make it to work today, trains are still dodgy though so prob leave work early. Have booked Thurs off now as they are having a train strike so don't want to try and get in, would rather lay in!0 -
How is everyone feeling today? Still snotty and coughy? Anyone snowed in? Its just started trying to snow here after threatening to for days... and I can't find my wellies or ear muffs! Brrrr.
No idea how I'm going to get all of my work cleared by tomorrow. My manager suggested that I come in on Friday but he was (not so) politely told to sod off!
I took the morning off work yesterday and went shopping with OH for all of our Christmas Eve food, we got loads in Morrisons for £72, God love their half price joints! Got a big trimmed Turkey crown for £22 and a big joint of Beef for £9! £9!!!!! My Dad's given me the secret to a nice rub to slather on it so it should be nice, I hope! I went to see my parents last night and was going through what I was cooking and how I was doing it, which is how my Dad does everything because he's great (Mum doesn't really cook so I learnt everything from Dad!), and we've figured out that I'm making pretty much the same meal as my Dad except I'm serving a turkey and he's doing duck! Even my wild card of carrot and suede mash, which my Dad never does for Christmas usually, is my Dad's wild card this year too! Clearly great minds think alike!
For my Mum's little after dinner murder mystery type game thing I have to wear something that shows I'm a Russian Supermodel. We're not dressing up per se, just wearing an item that shows off our 'character'... but I have no idea what to wear! Where can I get a big Russian fur hat in 3 days???Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Still got the blocked up/bad sinus feeling but it's never developed into a proper cold so I'm thinking that's what it is.
We've finally got the snow that everyone else seems to have had for days. Thankfully it's not too bad so I should still be able to get into work tomorrow, although whether the people I need to pin down to finish off the report do is another matter!
Payday today (first payday in new job) so the accounts are looking a bit healthier. ISA has been fed a bit more and I'm that bit closer to having enough to replace the laptop, which is going on the blink.ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -

Ah well done DK! Sometimes I forget this is a money-based thread
Which is probably a good thing as I feel like I've spent a fortune in the last couple of weeks, though it *should* all be budgeted for and my parents generously offered to pay for the goose and booze, so it should just be a few bits of veg... right?*
Sorry to hear you're all so poorlyhopefully it will be out of your system by the weekend. I hope nobody's working too hard this week.
Nice bargains, Birdie! Sounds like you're pretty sorted for the big dinner. I'd make a plan to leave on boxing day - I don't know what it is with families, but it seems to take at least an hour to say goodbye! If you and OH want to leave at 11 am, try telling your mum you need to leave at 10 am, and hopefully you'll get out on time and everyone's happy
Dinah, how are your pipes? What a nightmare for you when it's so cold
Tete, sorry to hear that your London trip wasn't the carefree festive trip it should have been - feel better soon!

Funny you should say that, my OH has one :rotfl:
Today has been an absolute nightmare with the snow. We had lots lastnight, we just had a sprinkling before, but now its an absolute nightmare! I got into work today, usually takes me 10 minutes to walk but it took me 30 minutes today and I was so cold by the time I got there
Cant afford not to go though, if I dont go I dont get paid!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Morning all,
Got the day off and was awake at half 6 typically, too excited haha!
Birdie - the Christmas eve dinner stuff sounds lovely. I have no idea about the hat though sorry!
We did all our food shopping last night so the fridge and cupboards and bursting. Going to be doing some cleaning today before the family arrive tomorrow.0
