Lara - the dress is amazing, love it.
It is amazing how long it takes to get round London sometimes isn't it! Hows the snow? We have got quite a lot in Hemel today.
I just had my best friend from uni round with her bf, she has been living in Australia and is back for a couple of weeks. We had some lunch in pub and she has gone into London to meet some other uni friends and then we are meeting again tomorrow.0 -
Aww I got the flu and was really unwell last night. Today I am confined to the sofa. We had to cancel our big Christmas dinner after buying and cooking half the food, grrrrr. What a bummer.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0

Lara - Love the dress! Hope you're feeling better soon. It'd be horrible to be ill over the Christmas period.
Birdie - You have my sympathy - you hardly get any break really!
I'm in 4 days next week (same as normal) and finish at 4 on Christmas Eve, then thankfully I'm not back until the 4th Jan. I'll be so glad of the break as next week is going to be a lot of hard work to get the annual report done and dusted before the end of the week!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Morning,
How are you all? I am at home today as all trains keep being cancelled. Went down to station, train was delayed then cancelled then went bak half an hour later and same thing happened so have given up. My poor toes are just un freezing.
Hope you are feeling better Lara! Half my family have a sickness big now so hoping they are better before coming up here Friday!0 -
I'm at work today, and meant to be in for one day before the new year next week. But that's it! Was soo hard to get out of bed this morning, it was freezing (had thick ice on the inside of the window, even with the heating on ) and we decided it was a good idea to stay up till the morning watching Christmas specials, doing voice overs on the, ahem, adult channels and playing song games. Which was fun, but I'm knackered this morning. I burnt my pancakes
But, only FIVE more sleeps!!
That dress is stunning Lara, hope it's still there on sale come Thursday! Fingers firmly crossedHope you're feeling better soon!
Had a little ray of hope last night for deliveries. A nice Scottish man dropped off one of our parcels at about 5pm-ish. Bless him! It was so cold.
What's everyones Christmas plans for this week? We're just doing the family rounds most of the week. But tonight my Mum is coming over to help me strip the black off my hair and recolour it, so excited!0 -
Sounds like a fun night Cinny and at least you can lie in tomorrow.
I had a bit of a nightmare with deliveries but last couple arrived fri/sat so everyone has Christmas pressies.
My only plans this week are to do the Christmas food shop wed night, Thurs night sister and sisters bf will be here , then Christmas eve Mum, Dad and Grandma will be arriving.
I got my hair cut sat and they are doing an offer on blowdrys for only 10 pounds Christmas eve and new years eve so booked myself in christmas eve, will be nice to have nice hair Christmas day. Little Christmas pressie for myself.0 -
Love the dress Lara! If it is still there when you go back with your Mum it'll be fate and you'll have to get it!
Christmas party was fun on Saturday night, I had far too much to drink though. I felt more than a little delicate yesterday, and it just got worse as OH decided that we had to watch a certain film which we couldn't find at home so he dragged me round town to find it, then we had to go on a trip to the next town over to search... and we didn't find it! He had to give up eventually as it was freeeeezing! I got my Dad's Christmas present sorted though so it wasn't a total waste of a trip out. I've got one more thing to buy for my brother then my shopping is all sorted, I think!
I'm going to get our Christmas Eve dinner food tomorrow night after work then I shall be spending the rest of the week looking at it all and panicking because there's no way it will all fit in my oven at once! :rotfl:
Christmas day is at my Mum and Dad's this year, we don't have to go until late morning and because we're having Christmas with OH's family on Friday we'll have a nice lazy morning together rather than rushing about to see everyone as we've done in the past. I kind of wish we could just hole up and spend Christmas alone together. OH never really enjoys going to my parents house for Christmas because Mum gets carried away and makes us do 'fun' things like obscure quizzes on wine and flowers that OH can't answer and all he wants to do is lie about watching movies, which I can't really blame him for! This year Mum's got some murder mystery thing about trains (I really don't know....) and I just know OH and I will be sat gritting our teeth because the only one enjoying it is Mum! If we don't get to watch the Doctor Who special I fear there will be fireworks! We're staying over too, I can't decide if this is a good or bad thing, good because I can drink for once (and I shall take advantage of that!), bad because we can't escape, and we'll end up hanging around there for ages on Boxing day morning when all we want to do is get home and chill out together!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Another travel calamity for me yesterday - took seven hours to get home from London, I missed the Apprentice final and now I know who won. Was lovely to see the girls, but festive London in the snow is quite depressing when you're already a bit depressed. You can see why so many people throw themselves under Tubes at this time of year (two that I heard about in two days there!
)
Last day at work today - am in tomorrow but it's our meal and bowling in the afternoon so not a proper day really. Still feeling very unfestive but it'll be nice to hole up in the house, specially as we've had quite a lot of snow.
That dress is lovely Lara, very elegant. Hopefully wedding dress shopping is the last thing on amyone's mind this week and you manage to grab itAlso hope you feel better soon! I've a feeling I'm going to come down with something over Christmas after sharing a bed with a poorly friend on Saturday, then being cramped into a train full of germy strangers yesterday!
Hope everyone else is well xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Birdie - your Mum sounds sweet bless her, bet she thinks everyone else loves the games. Maybe mention to her you want to watch the doctor who thing and can you play the game later/earlier.
Tete - what a nightmare, the travel system really does fall apart with the snow doesn't it.0 -
Sounds like the perfect treat Wendz! Must be exciting to think you'll have a little you bopping around the place next Christmas, how is the bump?
Oh jee Birdie, those games sound fun! Bless your Mum. Things like that are only really good if you're in the mood, having them forced on you makes them about 10 times worse! Atleast you kind of drink the pain away. I was thinking when I read your post how on earth you'll be able to cook all that meat, do you have a slow cooker you could use? I saw an advert on the telly this morning for Morrisons doing a half price deal on all their cuts of meat. Thought it might make that £50 go a little further.
Tete, 7 hours?! My god, I hope you had a good book or something. It's stupid how everything grinds to a stop when there's some snow. But ain't it pretty?
We're a little bit all over this week for teas - I wish we could get everyone in one place for the big day but that's impossible! Going to my parents Wednesday, OHs parents Thursday, my Grandparents Friday and staying at home on the big day. Heading out to my Parents for mince pies and meat sandwiches for tea Christmas evening though. I'll admit, I'm looking forward to my Grandparents most! Their house just makes me feel like a kid again when it's all dressed up for Christmas.
Sat giving myself a gentle headache. Cinny has turned into a cinnamon overloadI've got cinnamon scented shampoo and OH bought me N.Spa's Gingerbread whipped body cream yesterday so I'm like a walking cinnamon stick atm. Very festive!
