I am not sure about the kindle either. I like having a physical book but i do get through them quick and they are heavy to lug to and from work in my bag when i have to walk quite a bit.
I won an £20 amazon today from doing a survey from my old uni yay. Think will put towards some baby stuff.0 -
Tete - the snow never lasts in London so as long as you can get here you will be ok hehe. What you doing in London this weekend?0

Dinah - sounds like a good idea to get rid of NIMs car if you can manage without it! Also like the sound of your lose 11 things in 2011.
In the new year I am going to work out how much debt we have again. really dont want to know before Christmas. I know that sounds really daft but other than making the minimum payments theres not much we can do about it until OH is sorted in his new job anyway.
I could make a vague guesstimate on how much it is, but dread to think what the actual figure is!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

I'm just visiting friends, not sure what the plan is. It's getting home again that I'm worried about! Me and (ex)OH went about this time last year and almost got stranded in Durham when we arrived back, no one could get to the city centre to pick us up and all the buses were stopped - luckily one bus driver came along who had to keep going as he lived in my neck of the woods, otherwise we'd have been stuck there overnight.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Glad you're feeling a bit better - it would be nice to have a little cash injection, did you decide you can cope with one car?
PS. Well that brought my kindle argument crashing down!:rotfl: I saw one for the first time quite recently and was surprised how nice they were to read - I thought the screen might be bright and glare-y like a computer screen, but it's all soft and not backlit. Gosh, it sounds like I'm trying to convince myself!
OH will be using his for the commute to work (he goes by bus/train). Lol- with Max it will be a long time before we will be having holidays in the sun reading books! We never really had them in the first place though, we were always on more active hols. Must be a nightmare for people who do buy them for sum hols though.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Found out last night that someone has managed to compromise the Gmail account that I use for freelance work and send quite believable scam emails to everyone in my contacts (multiple times too for good measure) so have had to change accounts, shut that one down and let everyone important know my new email. Big hassle I wasn't expecting on my day off. Changing every single password on everything just in case too!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0

Sorry to hear that DK. Sounds like a nightmare
Well I have some good news. OH's job have agreed to a transfer and I have a 2nd interview for the job I went for so it looks like we will be Scotland bound mid Feb. It feels weird in one way, to return, but in another I am quite excited about paying off our debts and saving for a house deposit!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thats fantastic news CMD, I'm absolutely chuffed to bits for you!
Only due a dusting around our neck of the woods I think, it's heavier on the coast.
Do you use that website that got hacked and someone pushed all the passwords online DK? It was a gossip site, Grazzle or something wierd?
Totals in my sig got a little better today, £45 in mystery shopping money arrived, along with £135 from Amazon, and another £15 or so from the various savings accounts. So now we're back up to having £78 + £15 on NIMs credit card to see us till payday. Sounds like a lot but half of that will go just on fuel. Both our credit card min payments come out this weekend too, so need the big £180 payment out the savings account to arrive before then!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hi everyone! Sorry I've not been around, work's been insanely busy so I've just about managed to read the odd post here and there and OH unplugged a vital cable the other day and 'broke' the internet at home! Back online now and time for a quick post before some friends come round for tea!
Great news CMD, really happy that things are working out for you!
Not so great news for you Dippy, what a nightmare! There are some really awful people out there, I just don't get why people do things like that?!
Your 11 things list looks like a good one Dinah, I hope you finish the year with them all scratched off!
Hope you're doing OK Zig, it sounds like you're really being put through the mill right now.
I remember your snow/train/nearly stranded drama from last year Tete! Hope it doesn't happen again! Really hope the snow stays away, it's been the cause of my nightmare at work and really don't want it to come back and undo all of the work I've done to fix the last lot we had!
Got to run now because I can hear the chilli pot bubbling over! Ooops! Hope to be able to catch up more tomorrow!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
