Ooooh it was nice getting up this morning without having to hop about because it's freezing!

Snow seems to be getting worse here, how's everyone else faring?

We've been invited to a NYE party by the Bridezilla and we really don't want to go but not sure how to get out of it! It's a Bond theme which is even more annoying, OH has a tux but I'd have to find a costume, and considering I'm dressing up on my hen do a whole 16 days later I'm not too fussed about getting dressed up! I know they're only doing it because we're having a Christmas party... everything I/we do she has to 'better'! It's really getting on my nerves now!

Wow, I forgot she was Friendzilla too - she must be stopped! Find out what she's wearing on NYE and dress the same, but better :rotfl: Although, seriously, don't stoop to her level - if you don't want to go, don't go. Do you and your OH fancy just doing something completely different? Or will all your (proper) friends be going?

Must be super nice to have heat again! It's properly Arctic out there :D Glad you've got your new car sorted Dinah - and a bonus that it can handle this weather!

    Take it easy Wendz!

I've 2 options for getting out of it for you

1:- Sorry Friendszilla we already have plans with family for NYE, last one before I'm Mrs "Mr Birdie"(I'm crap with names I'm sorry) and mum/dad/insert other relative is being all emotional about it.

2:- Sorry Friendszilla I'd just rather cuddle up at home with hubbie to be and watch Jools holland ring it in.

Secret option 3 thats quite drastic:- Stuff off you crazy bride/friendzilla, your a 2 faced so n so who keeps having to one up her supposed friend and I'm not putting up with your garbage anymore...theres more than one reason I dont speak to certain aquaintances anymore, show of hands who thinks I need to stop using the sldge hammer so much?

Since I've come to work there is over an inch of snow on my car :(
    Hows everyone elsE?
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

I'd just say you have other plans and leave it at that, if you don't want to go you shouldn't feel obliged.

Walking into work they've cleared the paths, but there is easily 2ft of snow either side of the path. The car park is near enough impassable, people are sliding all over the place, some spaces are cleared which were quickly nabbed - I was chuffed to be able to park on the flat but not cleared bit in a line with other 4x4s! Car was great this morning, I feel a lot less stressed about drifting into a tree (and even if I do, 5* safety rating).

Mum is insistent NIMs Tesco vouchers were given to us midweek, I'm insistent they weren't. I don't really know where they'd have gone if they had arrived as we have the study now so they should just have gone up there, but I know they're not in there.

I made it into work in one piece, is fine in central London, no snow but its just the bit from my flat to station is slippy, wore my wellies for extra grip.

I would love to see the advent calendar Birdie - sounds fab. As for the Bridezilla thing, i would either go and make a massive effort so she looks bad about all the moaning about hen do etc or do as others said and make otherplans.

Dinah - always nice to feel safe when driving

LOL NIM, you're not a fan of the 'softly softly' approach are you?! To be fair though OH is a fan of option #3 too, it's just difficult as we genuinely do like her OH and the boys play rugby together so it's not like we can just avoid them forever or tell her where to go. I feel a bit sorry for them too as our group of best friends won't go to the party (because they don't like her...) so we usually end up going to make up numbers since no-one else wants to go! We're too nice for our own good! I think we'll have to get our other friends to make plans and then tell the BZ that the plans have been made for ages and we've just remembered or something! Fancy throwing a fancy dress party so soon before another fancy dress party?!

Snow is very heavy here now, massive fat snowflakes! It looks very pretty but it's awful because I need to get home! Work's totally mental because only about 20% of our deliveries have actually gone out and only about half of them will actually be done but people just don't understand that the snow is causing problems. Excuse the pun, but I'm snowed under with issues to deal with! ;)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Home nice and early tonight, going to go to work earlier in the morning as only did 5 hours today so need to make up the time. Going to do some ebay listing this evening while NIM irons, although he does need to call Tesco and Dell too. Also need to spend 5 mins altering our budgets to take account of the new car and my reduced pay.

There's not a lot of snow here compared to some places but it's absolutely freezing! Today is my day off but I've been wearing five(!) layers in the office as it's exceptionally cold in there. Trying to catch up on chores and freelance stuff but it's getting really difficult to fit everything in now with only one day off and the weekend.

ETA - If anyone gets chance to check out the vouchers site in my profile and let me know what they think, big virtual thanks coming your way! I've been instructed to get as much feedback as possible to gauge what people think and how to improve etc. so would really appreciate any time you can spare!

I've had a look DK. I like the colours, its bold, my suggestion would be could you get a quick list down one side of current shops which have offers, so you can just jump to Mothercare for example if thats the one you want. Also out of date ones are on there, is this just an example site because if its live it drives me batty having to wade through out of date offers to find things that are still in date.

Thanks for the input, Dinah! I like those suggestions so I'll pass them on. It is a 'live' site but I think based on what you've said, it could do with me adding 'Now Expired' or similar to the post titles once they've gone out of date so that people know it's been and gone?
