Yay for getting home Lara, bet it feels great.
I am glad I can have a day of not getting to work tomorrow, not that it has been that bad but so scared of slipping. Been doing a bit of internet shopping for Christmas pressies and think OH got a few things today.0 -

Morning all. Listed a few bits on ebay and Amazon over the weekend (about 50 in total I think), and used our Tesco vouchers to book New York for one week for our first wedding anniversary!
I should be a lot more excited than I am, but I'm just worried my cousin has gone and booked her wedding for the same day we had ours only a year later, in which case we'll miss it. I know she booked it at the start of the week and I've emailed twice asking for the date, and she's replied to the email just not told me when the wedding is. We think this may be because she's doing it on our date but not telling us for fear we'll get mad. A few weeks ago our grandad said she was looking for September 2012, but when my dad asked to try to get the date out of him over the weekend he said 'oh end of august beginning of september time' - if thats 2011 we'll be away as we'll be gone from the 28th August - 6th September. I'd be gutted to miss it, but a bit peeved if she hadn't checked we didn't mind her using the same day (I wouln't have, I just think its polite to ask).
Had to pay a deposit on the holiday, which I didn't realise, so need to up the moneymaking by £300 this month to make ends meet. I know I have about £140 sat in Amazon so I'll request a disbursement on that this evening. Going to do some more listings this evening.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I don't know if they have a site like this over there but they have a guy like Martin Lewis, promotes the same kind of stuff and goes on the radio a lot too. Can't for the life of me remember his name! But do you lot seriously come on here first for codes?! In all honesty, I think this site is rubbish for finding them. I just put '*shopname* discount code' into google and go with that! I do love the whole layout and feel of that website though DK, it's really neat and clear looking. Only thing I can think to suggest is maybe an A-Z drop down list of current offers. Saves scrolling through all the text to find what you're after?
Quite exciting about the trip to NY Dinah! Is that £700 extra covering spending or is it just to make up travel and hotel costs? Hope some of your prints sell too, and all your amazon/ebay bits! My kissy-kissy one got lost in the moveI have no idea how I managed to misplace as much as I did considering it really was just bedroom-van-house! I'm clearly just more useless than I thought.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend though, and I'm glad you managed to make it home easily Lara!Managed to get OHs car home from Sheff yesterday and had our first little dinner party! Bar that we just stayed in the warm.

Yay about New York Dinah, very exciting!
If your cousin won't tell you the date then is her fault if you miss the wedding. If it is the same date as yours then it would be common courtesy to say something to you about it.
Cinny - I tend to go on vouchercodes first for codes and discounts as you can just search in there.
I had a nice weekend, nearly finished Christmas shopping and went to winter wonderland in Hyde Park which was fun Sunday.0 -
welcome back Lara! It's been bonkers weather here, but you must be relieved to be back in time for festive build up!
I'm glad you booked NYC Dinah - i think it's a fab first anniversary present to yourselves! I agree with you and Wendz about your cousin's wedding - would have been polite to ask (or just mention it!) if it is going to be the same day as yours. Would be a shame if you can't go though.
I've had tonsilitis the last few days which has wiped me out totally, but feel much better today so went into work this morning and doing a bit of online shopping to make up for missing the whole weekend!
It is still snowy and icy up where you are Dinah?LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Thanks for the input! I think we're veering towards having current offers listed in the sidebar so I'll see how that one pans out. If you all wouldn't mind giving it the once over at that point, I'd really appreciate it again!
Stressful time at work at the mo as I've got a deadline looming over me to get the annual report tied up before the 24th and the draft by the 17th really. Not long given I'm only in 4 days a week! So I won't be on while I'm at work but should be around in the evenings to catch up with everyone's news!
Dinah - It does sound like she's being rather evasive so you're probably right to think like that and I agree that it would be the polite thing to do just to ask. I'd imagine that for a lot of people, 'their' day would be special and it's just polite to ask if you wouldn't mind.

Are you still happy to be back home Lara or has all this snow made you rethink?!
I had yesterday off work and I knew it'd be a mistake because I've come in to a right pile of whatsit this morning! OH had his theory test so I went to offer him moral support, it must have worked because he passed! Thank goodness for that, he's bordeline dyslexic and has a tendency to mis-read things without realising so I wasn't sure how he'd do since his practice tests were a bit hit and miss since he was answering what he thought the question was rather than what it really was IYKWIM!
Hope you're feeling better today Poddle and you're not getting too stressed Dippy!
I agree that your cousin seems to be acting oddly Dinah. Any particular reason why they would have chosen 'your' date for their wedding? I don't really get why she hasn't told you after you kept asking because you were booking a holiday! Can't be helped now but a shame that you may have to miss it. Don't let it spoil the excitement of NY though!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Morning all, congrats to your OH for passing his test Birdie!
Not at work today, we are totally snowed in. Took 4 hours to get home from work last night (in a 4 x 4) otherwise it would've taken triple that. People are still stuck in their cars and the amount of abandoned cars is unbelievable. It's like The Day After Tomorrow - wish it was cos then I'll have got to the concert supposed to be going to and back home safely! In fact concert should be cancelled, very irresponsible of the organisers not to cancel. Oh and Christmas probably cancelled too, due to lack of food and pressie shopping, ha!
Have a good day (if not snowed in).0
