    Morning,

Things are going well in the new role. No point complaining about feeling like death warmed up as will get no sympathy in here. Savings are still plodding along even though Mrs Poolie attacked the credit card at the weekend with a really nice new jumper at £145!!! Told her she has to keep it for a good few years. It is very warm though.

    Congrats to your OH Birdie!

Work is finally calming slightly, although we will be busy up to Christmas.

I have got my anomoly scan tomorrow for baby so hopefully everything will be OK.

I agree that your cousin seems to be acting oddly Dinah. Any particular reason why they would have chosen 'your' date for their wedding? I don't really get why she hasn't told you after you kept asking because you were booking a holiday! Can't be helped now but a shame that you may have to miss it. Don't let it spoil the excitement of NY though!

Congrats to your OH Birdie, one step closer.

All I can think is she might have taken that date next year as its a Saturday and if it was the only one available or they gave her a reduced price to take an empty date as they are within a year now and wanted to fill it up. I know she said she wanted August or September (fair enough), but there are plenty of days in two months! We already share a birthday as well though, maybe she thought it would be cute? As I say, I wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't be chuffed if she didn't ask first, or if I've now booked my holiday when the wedding is because she didn't give me the date after it was booked.

With your cousin Dinah, maybe it is what you said. They got a cancelled slot for their wedding, maybe had to book it quickly so didn't have time to ask and now she's feeling a bit nervous about telling you the date?

Major congrats to your OH Birdie! :j How long till you think he'll be ready for his test?

Good luck with your scan tomorrow Wendz, and I hope you're feeling better soon Poolie!

Hoping everyone's still safe and in one bit! Been freezing here the past couple nights, fingers crossed for no more snow as we're going on holiday this Saturday. We've got insurance to get a full refund if we do have to cancel because of snow, but still. I want to gooo! Work for our company is picking up a bit too, and it's lovely to feel excited about coming to work again. I'll always love my company, but it's hard to stay motivated when I was faced with nothing to do everyday!

Hehe thanks Birdie, Poddle. Ahh can't believe you're all snowed in. No such luck here unfortunately - not that I would get the day off as I study from home!! I'm heading back up to Lancaster for uni tomorrow though, hope I manage to make it. Hope you're all cosied up inside with some mulled wine and other Christmassy things. I think I am extra freezing because I have been in summer mode for so long. Our house is drafty in the middle floor where there's no double glazing and the windows are all rotten and need replacing. Can't afford it until next year though. I just want it to be Christmas already :D I'm just trying to unpack everything and sort my life out. There's bit of me all over the house.

I am going to do some last bits of shopping in Lancaster as I find it's quite a good shopping town. In London everything's too dispersed it takes aaages to get from place to place. I need to get the nephews and neices as my sister lives in Denmark and they need to get posted as soon as possible. Mum says one of my nephews has started pretending so much, she bought his walkie talkies and apparently he has been a spy all week. I'm going to try to get him an invisible ink kit or something like that. Bless him, he's only 6!

Birdie - congrats to your OH, and Wendz, big hugs for the scan - hopefully it will be some nice reassurance for you.

Hello all! I'm very jealous of all the snowed in stories; I wanna be snowed in! We have major frost but that's about it :(

Where you going on holiday Cinny? Hope you get to go and glad work is picking up for your company :)

That's so cute! :D Welcome back! Must be quite nice to come back to a festive atmosphere. I'd like it anyway! Good luck getting to uni!

Huge congratulations to your OH Birdie! We've just been learning about dyslexia in uni and it's given me a whole new perspective on how hard it must be for dyslexics to do certain things.

Exciting that NY is booked Dinah! We've been looking at going away in late April/early May but it's so expensive :( Anyone got any cheap European recommendations for a few days away?

I hope tomorrow goes well for you and the baby Wendz x

How did the scan go Wendz?

Had a totally manic day again at work, only got home about 20 minutes ago! I've got my car tax sorted out now finally, had to go to the DVLA office in Leeds for a new V5 and a disc, pouted at my boss about it and looked helpless so he let me take a long lunch and lent me his lovely BMW to drive there in so I wouldn't get stopped for being untaxed! It was lovely driving a car with power... I didn't want to go back to work!

Have you any plans to go to Denmark soon Lara? Your nephew sounds so cute! I'm not broody....:o

I hope you've not turned into a snowgirly Swinstie!

    Hi all,

The scan went well, everything is normal except my placenta being at the front and back although they didn't seem too concerned. I had to wait ages though and one woman threw up in the scan room so that took a while to clean up then they forgot about me until I said something. Managed to get a free photo for being forgotten though!

Almost done all my Christmas shopping , just trying to find a cheap remote control helicopter for OH. Saw one in primark the other day and didn't get it. Wish I had now as can't find another one arghh!
