Agreed!!
Dinah - that sounds awful about the damp, is it because of a problem with the house or just because it is cold? I have never heard of mould on sheets, expecially not in such a short space of time!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
No it's not even cold, I keep it at the same temperature you'd expect in the Bahamas day in day out! I think it's because the windows are plastic and have no trickle vents, so all the mositure in the house can't get out. We moved the guest room bed today because the wall that was free has a chimney breast on it so can't get the drawers on there, so moved it all round so the drawers fit in, and when I was doing the mattress I noticed black mould on the underside of that one too - so now it seems both mattresses are shot in space of a month! Not good, our one downstairs cost my grandad nearly £2k! Weirdly I prefer the guest room I think, it's nowhere near as comfy but it just seems right having the bedroom upstairs.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm not sure if I'm more shocked that you have had two new matresses go mouldy, or the fact a mattress cost £2000! :eek:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

I didn't buy it, grandad did. If I had that kinda money I wouldn't spend it on a mattress!
One isn't new mind, had it 10 years, but its only gone mouldy since we moved.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

All he says is when we had that conversation and I said I wanted marriage and kids eventually and needed to know he did too; he said yes at the time but now realises he was kidding himself, he never wants those things and we're going in different directions
I know people compromise when they love each other enough, so I guess he just doesn't.
Hi girls just lurking but just wanted to give a big hug to Tete...and also say that you mustn't think it was just cos he didn't love you. If you genuinely don't want all that then there IS no compromise lovely. I had all this in reverse with my ex and there was no way I could do the whole marriage/kids thing just to please him so he had to go. It's a HUGE step and it's just not for everyone so let him go and have his freedom and you go and have yours and someday when the time is right you will meet the man you will marry and have a family with...for sure XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Ahh hugs Birdie, a bit disappointing, but at least something might still come of it. It's a really fantastic compliment to get in any case. I'll be keeping all my fingers crossed for you - early December is just a couple of weeks away so you still might have some good news before Christmas.
Only 10 days before I travel home now - I'm so excited! Yesterday my friend Eve started this conversation 'What would you buy if you were in Marks and Spencers?'!! I have been drooling about olives, sundried tomatoes, mini mozzarella, olive bread... There is no chance of any lost weight staying off when I get home. Oh well.
In other news, the Rev. has agreed to marry us so that is something else ticked off the list. Now got to ask photographer friend of friend if he'll photograph our wedding for a cheap priceAnd do some dress trying-on before Christmas. Now my first fieldwork is almost done I can actually obsess about something else, LOL.
Sorry to hear about your mattresses Dinah, that's really annoying the previous owners didn't get properly ventilated ones. I bet it's too cold for leaving the windows open! I am not looking forward to UK weather.
Yesterday I went to a crocodile farm and held a small croc! It was so strange, his belly was really soft. He was 2 years old.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Too cold but also it's downstairs, so I wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping with an open window!
Crocodile farm sounds amazing.

What a a nightmare about the mould Dinah. That is bad losing two matresses to it! How is the list coming along?
Lara - crocodile farm sounds fun!Bet you are excited to be coming home. Good news about the rev too.
I have had a nice weekend with my Mum who came to visit me. We chilled out and watched Xfactor last night and had an indian and today we went to dunham mill and homebase and went for lunch at the pub. She has been buying us loads of christmas stuff bless her, like crackers and table decorations etc and some nice baubles.0 -
Hi everyone! Haven't been around for ages now and only just realised you're onto a new thread! I've been doing voluntary work at a charity for the last six weeks to bulk out my CV a bit more and have just found out that they should be able to offer me a six-month contract in the next couple of weeks. Only 25 hours a week and I'd need to keep up the freelancing too for when it's over but quite excited about it.
Dinah - Big challenge but if anyone is going to nail it, it's you!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0
