How jammy are you getting a free Flip Cam?!

Congrats on getting Percy Cinny, he's too cute to leave behind! He seems quite attached to you already (and vice versa!) so he should adjust quite well. If you fall out with him you can always send him to me!

OH has gone on his Stag weekend today, he was too excited to sleep (yes, he is still 3 years old at heart) so I didn't sleep well then got woken up at 6.25 by OH jumping up and down saying 'Stag Do! Stag Do!'. It's kind of brought home the fact that we actually get married in 3 months, weird!

Oh and I do know that I'm being a little unreasonable towards my friends regarding the hen weekend and I shouldn't be upset that they're not staying but I just get the feeling that they would have been the odd ones out no matter where we went or what we did. When the plans were for York they were on about getting the last train home rather than staying. And why not tell me?! I'm feeling pretty annoyed with them right now too as they went to see McFly turn on the lights in Leeds last night and didn't bother to invite me! They always leave me out of fun stuff; I wouldn't be surprised if they do things on my own hen weekend to make me feel excluded. :(

  • Morning, that's fab about the camera Dinah (sorry Cinny) I keep meaning to put some reviews on Amazon so they might pick me too but now that I have the time I definitely don't have the inclination. Have spent a lot of this week trying to tie up loose ends with bills etc but we still have a way to go. I feel sick when I think of all the money I've spent on moving in, stuff for the house and rent and bills for three months, and all I'm going to have to show for it is some crockery and a new laundry basket. OH is giving me some money for the furniture as he's going to rent somewhere so it's easier than having to store it, and it would remind me of him anyway.

I've been looking at the price of flats to rent and they are ridiculous, I don't know if I'm going to be able to afford anywhere on my own. It's annoying because you can get a big four bedroomed house in a lovely village for like £675 a month, but it's still £400 a month for a crappy unfurnished bedsit above a shop in a dodgy area - doesn't seem fair. It's depressing being at Dad's but at the end of the day I WOULD rather live with him than a load of strangers in a house share.

Anyway I'm not going to think of any of that before the new year, I'm not in the right place. For now I'm trying to concentrate on keeping busy. Makes me realised just how dependent I'd become on him and how much time we spent together - I'm literally at a loss for what to do on a weekend now. He's at his graduation today, weird to think of him being there and me not.

(Sorry for moaning on again - don't have much happy to say)

Your dress is lovely Swinstie, don't know if I commented before...

(((Hugs Tete))) You're not moaning, it's bound to be hard. Have a rant anytime!

I hate that about one bedroomed flats. But are you sure you don't want to house share? It can be a lot of fun if you pick the people right. I lived with 2 comedy writers for a year and it was so good, I loved every minute of it. Also new people can get you into new activities and a new social scene. Maybe something to think about for spring?

I think it would be nice to make a new start on your own even if it is in a shared place (we just got our own place in March after 5 years sharing).

Birdie - I *love* that site!! Thank you so much for posting it for me :D

Thanks, yeah I don't know ... I guess I just think of house sharing as being drunken students and I'm too old for all that ... if I could find a place with professionals maybe. I did see one actually - two rooms plus a bathroom with shared kitchen ... but even that was £400-odd a month - I could have a flat for that. No decisions till after Christmas though, my head's still all over the place.

Good idea not to make any decisions until after Xmas. You will have more money saved up then also.

Have you any good Xmas parties coming up?

My flight was cancelled today. Have been put on a later one and hope it takes off!

  • Are you going somewhere today CMD? Sorry if I've missed it and fingers crossed it takes off.

No Xmas parties really - we're having a meal out and bowling one afternoon with work, and I'm going to book trains to London to see my best friend for the weekend on 18/19 Dec. Had a text the other night from ex-OH's friend's wife inviting me to their Xmas party so I guess the news hasn't quite filtered through there yet! My problem is I have hardly any friends at all still living in the area so social activities tend to involve a bit of travel and forward planning. Also hoping to go over to Dublin in January, Gee-Bag O'Leary's prices permitting!

Am meant to be going home for a couple of days (just me!) and OH is looking after Max. I am coming back on Sunday morning so it is just to spend time with my sister and parents.

OH can't wait to have some boys time with Max!!!

Sounds like you have a few things planned Tete. Are you having Xmas with your Dad?

  • Fingers crossed for your flight then.

Yeah Xmas at home :( Had been really looking forward to having my own tree and doing the dinner etc this year (I'll still be doing the dinner) ... had even been buying decoration bits, feel stupid now. Instead I'll be back at Dad's with relatives coming round going 'Oh, I thought you'd moved out?' :(:(

That sounds like a lovely girly weekend CMD! How lovely that your boys will be having some quality time together too. Bless! I hope the new flight doesn't get cancelled!

I don't really know how to make your Christmas sound any better Tete, just try to get through it, hopefully enjoy it a little and look towards next year with positive vibes. I like your list of things to do before your birthday on your blog, there are some lovely things on there!

Rental prices are stupidly high, I just don't know how people are expected to live alone and be able to afford to eat! It might be a good idea to find a 'nice' house share Tete, you may find that you really enjoy it and make new friends. If you hate it, well at least you tried!

I've just found out that it's our Rugby Club's Christmas party on the 18th, which is when we'd planned on having our party so now we have to rethink. There just aren't enough weekends in December!

ETA: Glad you like the site Lara, I thought it was you all over! :)
