We have decided to defo move to Scotland, just waiting to hear about the job he applied for.
It makes me mad that they are so rude. I have been working full-time since I was 19 years old and have never claimed a penny from them. I tried to make a claim when I moved from Scotland to England a few years ago and they refused me to sign on then and now they are rude again. Not all of them are like that, but the vast majority areTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hello again (I've been lurking
)
CMD, I had the same issues with the job centre and their call line a few months ago, I found the majority to be unhelpful and presumtious. One guy actually hung up on me because I dared to ask a question, he was sarcastic and when I said that I'd been on hold for half an hour and that he didn't need to get smart with me, he hung up :cool:much work to be done - new sig coming soon...0 -

I agree!! I had surgery on my jaw about 2 years ago, and couldnt work so had to sign on sick. I couldnt speak because my jaw was wired shut, and my face swollen up like a beach ball - my mum had to speak to them on the phone for me and she said they were so rude said that surely there was some sort of work I could do, and was I sure the doctors told me not to work. My surgeon signed me off work for 4 months!!!
Eventually after lots of fighting I got what I was entitled to.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

I know it's terrible. I was calling out my national insurance number yesterday and he couldn't understand my accent with the letters. With the numbers I was calling them out and he said really sarcastically - its only the letters we have trouble understanding not the numbers. What was that all about??? It maddens me Flower. When I went a few years ago the woman at my interview was so rude because I was 2 minutes late. They were meant to send me a letter with directions (which they didn't so I had to find the place myself and had just moved to the area). When I tired to tell her this she kept dismissing me. However, when she photocopied my wage slip she was nicer because she saw I earnt decent money. It was terrible.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Honestly Birdie, I wouldn't stay either if it was in my home town. I'd make myself as available as I could be all day long, and all night long, but the cost of a room for the night is a canny bit in anyones book, and if they're there until you fall asleep I really don't think it makes much difference. When it comes down to it thats the cost of a new coat or a weeks food shopping or 3 months road tax, if things are even a little tight I couldn't justify it to myself. One of my bridesmaids and one of my friends lived locally on my hen do and stayed at their places, but both earn sub £20k and I didn't really feel like they missed out as they stayed out as late as anyone else and were there for breakfast the next morning. End of the day everyone has their own room (or every few people have their own room) so you don't really notice it anyway. I'm sorry they're choosing to make it us and them though, thats not fun.
Got another £150 item on vine tonight, I think it's one of those flip cam things Cinny was on about. I don't really know what it does mind! Also a cookbook - always a good thing.
NIM got the car back today, all repaired and apparently driving very nicely. Mine is shaping up to be a hassle - the independant inspectors say they still haven't recieved the cheque, although it was sent first class on Monday and they won't give me the report till it clears.
NIM did a MS today, so his total will finally crack the £5 barrier sometime soon.

Lol, poor NIM, it must be hard being in competition with you! I'd be terrified
Very cool about the Vine stuff - do you get to keep everything afterwards?!
Just got back from a v. long day at work to find a road tax LAST CHANCE reminder - nightmare! I thought my tax was due end of the month so was wondering when they were going to send renewal, but it expired at the of October . I know it's my own fault, but I'm a bit cross that I could be fined when I didn't receive a reminder. I don't know why they don't email you renewal details instead (or aswell!) as they clearly have my email address as I've just paid online and they sent me a confirmation email.
Mini rant overUgh, I totally sympathise about the job centre; going there was a pretty horrible experience.
Exciting that you've decided to definitely move to Scotland, CMD!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Not good on the road tax.
Aye, get to keep all the vine stuff, have had a lot of good bits off them though. Trying to get them to invite NIM now.
All ebay wrapped ready to send. And I'm utterly shattered so off to bed I go.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oh hell no. If I don't get one in the sales now Dinah I'm blaming you for taking my stock! If it is the Flip cam, it's basically just a hand held camera. It's 'one button' too, so really easy to use and I know a lot of people just keep them in their bags to capture one off moments. And they have a 'flip out' usb thingamajig for easy uploads. It is, quite frankly, bootiful. And sometimes HD!
That's so exciting about Scotland CMDReally happy for you, keeping my fingers crossed you hear something about your OHs job soon.
Me and OH got up early because we need to get too the house for our curtains being dropped off. Problem is we only got out of bed to fetch our laptops and put our heater onIt's far too cold! And I'm sleepy. Good news is I had a word with my Sister and Percy is officially ours. We have a pug!
