Maybe you could try a sort of chignon with your hair? Not that I'd have a clue how to do one! And I thin it can't be a bad thing to get rid of any below-par clothes - I've been trying to weed out anything that doesn't fit right or makes me feel frumpy for a while now, but the problem is you're left with nothing to wear!
Awwww - have a lovely time with your OH Lara!!
I don't like Top Gun, The Karate Kid or Back to the Future!
I thought about that, but how on earth do you get them up there?! I may have to google 'chignon'!
All the furniture has arrived now, but it needs a few screws to attach the top to bottoms of the wardrobe, so can't start my big sort out yet.
Anyone with Natwest? I'm impressed with their business advisor and they give 2 years free business banking, so thinking of going to them, but some feedback on their general customer service would be nice.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

OH got really upset with me last year because I decorated the tree without him! I didn't mean to, I got the tree out to see what it was like then one thing led to another and he came home to find a fully fancified tree! I did leave the star off for him to put on though!
Oooh and Zig, Gary's my favourite too! Definitely not Mark, bad boy!
Hahaha!Generous of you to leave him the star!
I think OH will just let me get on with it tbh. Or, he'll say he will, but he'll end up interfering!
It's difficult trying to please all the families at Christmas. Your OH sounds like mine. I could quite happily spend hours and hours with mine, chatting or whatever, but he gets really bored! You making a Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve or something different?
Just Gary's voice is lovely! Let alone his face! Yes, Mark is a very bad boy!Zig I was actually just thinking that your cake looked *radically tasty*! Can't believe you think it turned out bad?! Yes OH is coming for a whole week - wooohooo! Only 2 more sleeps until he comes :T and only 5 weeks left here now in total. I was supposed to come back here for January and February but lots of people have been saying the elections will be problematic, so I am postponing until April.
Aw thanks, it looks really brightly/oddly coloured in the photos! You'll be counting down hours soon! Those 5 weeks are gonna fly by. Sounds best to postpone if there are gonna be issues

I'm with Lara, that cake looks really lovely Zig! I'd scoff a slice
Bridie - I think that's it, I get really excited when December rolls around so I can watch the Muppets and my OH couldn't give 2 flying figs! I just don't like Robbie, he has a smug face. Plus I was too young for Take That first time around, so when they came back I settled into the 4-bit. Just feel like Robberz is in it for the money. Gary is my favourite too!
Good idea in putting the re-visit off for a bit Lara!! Will be lovely having your OH with you, like a little slice of homeBe no time till you're home though, just in time for Christmas!

Goodness me - motormouths this morning or what?! I'm having a typical 'work-work-work-work-work so you can have a holiday' day'!
Birdie - I think you can be forgiven for forgetting your anniversary when your wedding day is looming so close! I can't wait to have our own tree this year either (it'll probably have real snow on it too), feeling very very Christmassy this year!
Zig - the cake looks brill, really risen! Not sure about the melted butter? I use melted in brownies and they're very stodgy aren't they? Loving the 'radically tasty' description!
Cinny - I'm with you on not liking Robbie being back, he's definitely only done it because they're so popular and his career is on the slide. Can't believe you're too young to remember them the first time! God, I think I was listening to them before you were even born which is vaguely depressing! I used to love Mark but he's so short isn't he? And his face is really girly! I might be persuaded more to Gary but he's a bit cross eyed bless him!
Lara - only five weeks! That'll fly, and at least you get a good stint at home before you go back. When's your wedding again?
Dinah - Natwest were the only bank who would give my Irish friend an account when she was living over here, and my ex was with them and I seem to think he thought they were good.
I'm sure you'll find a chignon tutorial on youtube!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I've had so much coffee this morning I may actually turn into a coffee bean... must learn to say no when someone offers me a cup!
It really upsets me when people say they don't remember Take That first time round, makes me feel sooooo old! I totally agree that Robberz is just jumping on the band wagon, although I don't think he needs the money! I still heart him a bit though and the little girl inside me is excited to see him singing back with the boys!
My mini buckets arrived yesterday to make OH's advent calendar, they're super cute but really mini! They're about 2"x2.5" so not too sure what to put in them, I don't want to just put sweets in every one! Strung some of them on the ribbon I got for it but I had totally miscalculated how much ribbon I needed so have to go and buy loads more! It should look good when it's finished though, I hope!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
:rotfl: on Take That, I feel the same!!
Tete the wedding is on August 6, 2011 - yay!
Dinah I am with Natwest and find them excellent, customer service is great on the phone, branches it's good although you can get the occasional mardy staff member. They are open longer hours, good internet banking where you can download your statements and stuff.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Hi all,
I am definately all cake eating out haha. Had a really good birthday though. Yesterday we went to Harrods for a look round and then to see Billy Elliott. Found some lovely old fashioned silver cross prams...slightly impractible though. We also got a bargain lunch as I think the guy forgot to charge us for half of it oops!
I am styill trying to get take that tickets too. I am also in the camp of not being impressed with Robbie being back. I went to last three tours so would be sad if couldn't go but if can't get tickets today will keep trying although won't be paying the extortinate prices some of them are going for.
Dinah - can't believe they thought you were too young at the banks. It is nice to look young but can be annoying when people think you are too young to do stuff!0 -

We used to bank with NatWest and they were great. We now use First Direct who are, frankly, magnificent.
Our mortgage has been with NatWest for ages and they've always been very helpful.0 -

Well, cheer up, Birdie, there's always someone older
I can remember Sweet, David Essex, David Cassidy and the Osmonds. My first single I bought for myself was Rat-trap by the Boomtown Rats - and I was 14 then.

It looked ok, not very well risen but ok. But it was really heavy. Not as heavy as it looked mind, but still pretty damn heavy for a sponge!
Zig, the cake looks yummy, I'd definitely have some of that. You've got me in a baking mood now. Think I'll make some Dorset Apple Cake - I got a freebie bag of cooking apples from a neighbour.
I'm going to chop up the remainder of the apples, cook them in some sugar and water, and freeze them ready to bung in an Apple Crumble at a moment's notice. Have you ever tried Apple & Mincemeat crumble - utterly delish. Time to make some mincemeat too, methinks, now it's nearly November.0
