It was a private car park, it does state they issue tickets/invoices but not clamping hence my warning.

Do take the clamp with you if you remove it with your special big key ;) as leaving it behind can cause all sorts of problems ;)

If you do damage the wheel clamp, take it with you ;)a
Then they'll be prosecuted for theft and criminal damage! :p

I for one am glad somebody has finally been clamped! Maybe that way the company will get their "unenforceable" invoice paid, too! Most Railway Stations have notices that indicate a wheel clamp may be fixed to any vehicle without a valid ticket, along with removal fees!

The train operator I work for can organise a clamp on a first offence, although realistaically only do so on a third offence. I'm sick and tired of people whinging when they get a parking ticket, as if they have some God given right to park on privately managed property free of charge!

If I'm issuing a parking notice and the offender returns to their vehicle and starts to gob off, I merely cancel the notice and report them under the railway byelaws. Lets see them try and worm their way out of that one!

You seem to be thoroughly confused between PPC ticketing and ticketing done by the Police/Railway/Council.

For the record, PPC tickets are unenforceable, this is because they have no basis in law. Tickets issued by police/council or under railway bye laws ARE enforceable, they have a basis in law and as such are given out following strict protocols, they also have a legitimate appeals process.

One type of ticket is backed by a Court of Law, one type of ticket is backed by a Court of Kangeroos, can you not see the difference?

So you appreciate the ticket is not worth the paper it is printed on yet you are glad that the company will get their "unenforceable" invoice paid?????

    What are you on about?

You freely admit the ticket is worthless scrap paper but are happy that by clamping the car that the clampers will get their money?

Yet you agreed on another thread that clamping is essentially theft.

I would call troll, but surely a troll would be more consistant.

If there was no parking management, there'd be rife in private car parks!
I don't understand your point of view. Surely by virtue of there being parking management in the car parks you know of, everything should be hunky dory.

I completely disagree with you unfortunately. The absolute best and cheapest way in terms of implementation is to put up a barrier that you can only exit from if you have paid, like there is in many multi-storey city car parks. Parking management and Parking Charge Notices are only popular because of the revenue they bring in. A revenue which in itself is entirely illegal as the company is misrepresenting the legal position of the tickets. Your argument is like someone saying blackmail is okay because the victim is rich. PPC's make it as easy as possible for parkers to breach the terms and conditions, and even not notice the terms and conditions, in order that they can issue their fake tickets. Sadly PPC's are all about money, not improving parking facilities.

If you want to improve parking you start with the planning, design, and layout of the car park. You make spaces big enough for modern cars and vans so that noone has any reason to park across two spaces. Then you put entry and exit barriers so you pretty much have to pay.

Is the point you're making about the size of parking spaces that people are forced to park in two bays, or that they intentionally park in two bays so the have more room to exit their vehicles etc? The only thing that annoys me about parking bays, is that when some idiot parks inconsideratelly I can't fit my moderately sized car in, and exit the vehicle without the need for a can opener! The bay sizes themselves, at least where I live, are an average size for most cars bar tracktors!

What about vans ? As I mentioned my brother got a ticket for using two bays, he had no choice the van is twice the size of a car, there is restriction on vehicle size in car parks, if there was you should have barriers preventing entry, now what damned right do the scammers have in restricting my brother or anyone in a like vehicle from shopping in their local supermarket ?

On that what happens if you are towing say a caravan or trailor or driving one of those campervans, aren't they allowed to shop with the said vehicles ?

Really these companies use any excuse to issue tickets, and they cause more damage to a shop's reputation than anything else, they allow scammers to harrass their clientele and then bury their heads when someone complains, I am still waiting for Sainsbury to reply!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Ah, so you were sarcastic about clamping being akin to theft. Thankfully the courts round my way were not sarcastic about it and have deemed it as such. As your laws are being updated to mirror this stance (bit behind however you get there in the end) will your beliefs still hold?

Funny how private parking companies wish to have complete control for where, how and for how long you park, whilst fining anyone using "their" car parks outwith their own fluid rules, YET they will still refuse to accept any liablity for damage incurred in said areas.

One of my vehicles is larger than the average car, when I am driving it I know of many shops I will not go to as the spaces are too small, and others that I will park further away from the entrance in the empty spaces.
