Frosted windscreen?
Comments
-
Much easier just to cover the windscreen at night.0

I have a heated windscreen so this is never a problem for me anymore, thankfully - use to hate scraping away the ice, my poor hands were like a snowman after!0
-
Warm water for me too - never had a screen crack yet - not even last year at -15C.0
-
I never use de-icer as although it thaws the ice to start with, when I drive off and use the windscreen wipers to clear any residue, the screen is cold enough to refreeze the residue onto the windscreen - not a good start to the day!0

The only difference betwen a 55 plate Mondeo and a 1992 range rover was you got hot air from the blowers quicker in the V8. Windscreen defrost times were the same and the only other difference I noticed was the sat nav not working due to the heated screen in the Mondeo.0 -

My 2000 plate Mondeo has a heated front and rear windscreen - a really life saver!0 -
Luke warm water I tend to use... Although I'm in work 6 nights at the moment and I have it parked inside a nice warm workshop;)0

I too use luke warm water, find it quick and efficient. One word of warning - make sure you stand clear of the windscreen when you turn the wipers on! Too big a shock to the system to have a face and headful of cold water swiped in your direction!!!:eek:0

We use warm water - not too warm though and find that quickest and most efficient. Don't use too much or drive risks becoming a skating rink.:A0
