  • I've booked the London Groupon deal that came online the other day, 6 sessions for £200 at The London House. I'm apparently ideal for this, I eat well, exercise regularly, but just can't seem to get rid of some fat on my stomach (love handles and bit of belly). I was overweight when I was about 16 (now 26, male, 5’7”, weighed around 80KG but fat – now 63KG), just can't seem to get rid of my stomach. People who know me that haven't seen me naked look at me and think I'm very slim (which I do look). I’ve read through the pages, and I know I'm taking a risk but I’m thinking positively that this would help in spot reduction as it claims to do - I've been told to exercise asap after each lesson which I will. I’ll also continue to eat healthy.

My first session is tomorrow, and there all complete by 4th October. I’ll send an update on my results on or around then. IF it works, I’ll provide pictures.
  • hungrymonster good luck and let us know how it goes.

i myself have booked my first consultation with slim gym, Chiswick tomorrow. the consultation is to see if the laser lipo can actually help me, because i have lots of weight to lose. the lady was nice enough to give me a consultation because i told her i need to lose 3 stones, and she booked me for a free consultation. she said is to see if it will help me, otherwise i shouldnt waste my money.
    i least shes honest enough.
  • id really like to know how you all get on ive still got the lump so im too scared to try it again but the deals are so enticing especially if youre as active as i am and its just that last bit that wont budge! looking forward to seeing how you all get on
  • Is promised I'm now posting the results of my laser lipo. I've so far had 2 treatments on my hips. When I was measured for my bridesmaid fitting I was 35 inch hips. I had my first session the next day and the lady performing the treatment also measured me as 35 inches. After the first session she said I had lost .8 of an inch. I went with the bride the next day for her dress fitting and asked the dressmaker to measure me again, this time I measured 34.5! On my second treatment I lost another half inch. I have also lost about 2 pounds in weight. However, I do follow a sensible diet and exercise regime (which I haven't changed over the last two weeks, just continued doing the same thing). It's not a miracle weight loss cure, I think it just helps contour problem areas.

I have purchased 6 treatments from Groupon for i-Lipo to be carried out at the Smile Clinic in Oldham and have my first appointment today for a consultation. I have a BMI of 23.5 so I'm not fat as such but have really been struggling to get rid of the fat on my tummy. I have read these posts and am now quite concerned about whether I've just wasted money!

Anyway, I will attend my appointment and report back... The lady I spoke to over the phone did tell me quite clearly that it doesn't help you lose weight, just helps with contouring of certain parts of the body, so I'm not expecting miracles but we shall see!

  • My experience of this treatment is as follows:

I am 28, weigh 118kg, and measure around 5ft 8, so quite a tubby lump, like others saw this on Groupon and have completed my course of treatments, and the only bit lighter I am is my bank balance!
I did each session, then spent 20 mins on the power plate after each session, then half an hour at the gym, followed by the sauna and a shower. I have taken extra care to what I have been eating, but absolutely no loss what so ever. I too noticed the loose tape measure for the before measurement, but as the young lady was quite a looker I didn't have the courage to say anything! The one thing I did notice, and look away if you are squirmish, that despite not eating for several hours before, or after the treatments, I did go for a massive poo after, maybe this is where the fat goes?

To conclude, I wouldn't go again, unless it was free or literally dirt cheap. As others have said, watch what you eat, exercise, be strong, if this doesn't work see the doctor who will be very understanding.

So glad that I read this post. I was really considering getting it done but I shall definately not bother now as it obviously doesnt work. I suppose the only thing that will work is a few trips down the gym!!

  • I've just had 6 out of a pre-paid course of 8 iLipo sessions and am sorry to report that -so far- it hasn't worked whatsoever. In fact, I've managed to gain a centimetre on 1 thigh! Will be v.surprised if it suddenly kicks in as I finish the last 2 sessions. Went straight on the power plate after 5 of them, as advised. Tried to be good re:food and exercise, too. Please, don't waste your money!
Reckon actual liposuction surgery would work alright, if the problems bad enough and the persons rich enough, although unless radical lifestyle changes are made it quickly comes back even then...
To be fair, improving diet and exercise is cheap / free and definitely going to have a good effect.

I'm rapidly approaching 50 and feeling it, therefore I've tried allsorts of aesthetic stuff this year. Virtually none of it has done a thing >: (
Here's a list of what I'd say to avoid:
    Brazilian keratin hair treatment
    Endermologie cellulite massage machine
    IPL photo rejuvenation
    Microdermabrasion
    Zaggora Hot Pants (!)
    - Botox bought on a Groupon did work - but I had 2 black eyes for a fortnight along with it

Things that work brilliantly for me and which I've been using for years include:
    Japanese hair straightening
Vitamin supplements for thin hair (I buy the market leader)
Joint supplements glucosamine sulphate 1,500mg and codliver oil 1,000mg taken daily, together @appx £20 per year online
'Honeygar' from health food stores, again, for the joints

This is my first post and apologies for it being very long but hope it's useful to somebody : )
  • hi there
i found this thread by searching for I lipo results because ive bought the three sessions but havent had them yet so i wanted to see if anyone else had done it yet and if it worked. I am also wondering if it is as safe as it sounds, as im thinking that lasers are powerful things and can i be sure its only going to affect my fat tummy and nothing else! My first session is on monday. This is also my first post here, ive never felt the need before but im hoping this is going to work but thinking it sounds too good to be true! If its rubbish i will let you all know as i hate money scam things...
  • I've finished the sessions and there is no change in the fat on my stomach. As I am slim apart from a après babies tum they concentrated all the pads on my tummy. I don't know if people realise, i didn't before hand, they told me not to eat any carbs or fat or alcohol or caffeine for 72 hours after! Not easy for me but I did it, plus the exercise but the measurement around my waist hasn't changed at all. I also felt quite queasy & had a headache but this could have been from the carb / caffeine withdrawal. Dont waste your money on this. I'm going to try Pilates instead.
