I can't believe how many people would be 'mortified' at the thought of the police knocking at the door. Why would you? And why would you give a damn what your neighbours thought? How would the neighbours even know whether OP was a victim or the acsused? It's not like OP was cuffed and carted of in a police car with lights flashing and sirens blaring. What strange people you are.

14 days have passed, so have you taken it further or does 'taking it further' consist of posting on this forum? You have had an apology, why does it need to be written and why do you have the right to specify the from of apology? That said, if I were wronged I would like my apology handwritten by the MD in his own blood, drawn from his veins with a golden syringe.

Not 14 days 'tis worse than that.

    From the OP

    " I've waited 14 weeks so far"

    Over three months!

And still no flowers, no vouchers, no compo!

Oh dear, what is a poster to do........

Wonder where the OP buys fuel from now?

You got your apology, and clearly you after something for nothing - of monetary value to "make up for it".

Personally, I think this is shocking behaviour by YOU. If you want something from Morrisaons, do some work, get paid, use your salary and pay for it. Over dramatising and playing the distressed victim is laughable, if I was the store manager I would send you a couple fo clearance loaves of bread and some out of date milk.

Seems to me that the uncaring, ignorant and lying Morrisons store manager and you are about on a par with your daft ideas on how to deal with a complaint!

So you wouldn't be mortified if the cops came calling, peachyprice?

I certainly would and so would most people I know. Unless, of course, they arrive on your doorstep on a very regular basis.

Well I certainly couldn't care less about what the neighbours think if a police man came calling. Why are people mortified when police ring there door bells, it might be different if you were a criminal, but a police officer making an enquiry is nothing to be worried about, sod the neighbours, its none of there business.

I have a friend that wont even talk to a policeman in the local shopping centre, incase someone see's her and thinks that she has been shoplifting.

The mentality of some people needs questioning.
  • just let it go no point wasting energy on this any longer. life is too short!

    No, it's not a regular occurance:rotfl:

    Why would you be mortified?

You know, police don't only knock on people's doors when they have done something wrong. But I guess if you are the sort of person that only thinks bad of people it might not occur to you that they could be knocking because the person had been a victim of a crime, or because a family member had died, or because they are reporting a crime, or because they are having stolen property returned. What would be so mortifying about any of those scenarios?

Around here the cops visit - more often than not - when there's somebody to slip the handcuffs on...!
  • OH MY GOD - I can't believe what some people have said!!

I don't want money or anything like that - I want a written apology saying sorry X happened, it happened because of Y and we're doing Z to hopefully prevent it happening again. I don't want anyone sacked, I don't want compo, I want the people in charge of the store to step up and admit fault. Sadly we're in a culture where it's all 'pass the buck' and I wanted someone responsible to apologise (i.e store manager who is responsible for the petrol station)

I had an apology off a representative in North England who had nothing to do with the incident. I want the store manager to step up and say sorry!!

I haven't been pondering this from month and my life is not so sad that I've been stressing over it. I'm just angry that they haven't bothered to apologise to me and have repeated ignored the matter. I have no intention of taking anything further, where the heck could it go. I was mearly hoping for someone to say - try contacting such and such a department but massive slurs on my character.

Thank you to the people who have written constructive comments and to the rest - think before you speak!! People have feelings
