I think this is a great idea Equaliser. Op is probably best seeking some legal aid and putting together a high profile case for defamation of charcter. It would be priceless entertainemnt being in the public gallery just to watch the judge urinate all over that case.
I really don't think the OP is interested in putting a case together, all she wants is for the apology to be put in writing, which is not asking for much is it?

Whatever her reasons for wanting a written apology, its the very least she deserves after what occurred, through no fault of her own.

I never thought writing a simple letter of apology would take over 15 weeks for a company to master, its no wonder they had difficulty in sticking to the promise of phoning her back.

    No need to apologise;)
  • I am appalled at their lack of interest, had they acted at the time and done the decent thing sent a letter/flowers just a genuine "we're sorry" it wouldnt have gotten this far. I would be horrified to find the police turn up at my house to accuse me of stealing fuel. You are totally right to want a proper apology I would want one too. I wont be buying fuel from Morrisons again either!

I'm sure Morrisons will be devastated by the loss of 2 loyal customers.

Oh well, less of a queue when I fill up

If you actually knew anything about law, legal aid and civil procedure in the Courts, you would know that legal aid is not available for defamation cases.

Your would also know that it is one of the few instances where a civil case is heard by a jury so a Judge would not "urinate" over the case.

Don't really have a clue do you? If you actually want to contribute, sensibly, to the thread, feel free. But please do so from a factually correct position.
