What will happen to those who are denied any more ESA's - NI Contributions - which at the present pay towards State Pensions ?
Details are patchy at the moment but I should imagine you would continue to receive NI credits, as happens when the 6 month period comes to an end with contribution-based JSA. Almost certainly only if you continue with the work-related activity though.

i dont understand why charities, pos cab etc take the goverment to task for the harm they are doing, i for one was told, yes told to stop work for good a few years ago, the dss has told me i am not fit for work, i know i am not able to work due to my conditions but yet i look at the goverment site for esa none working group and it does not take into consideration the perminent pain, morphen patches and pain killers all day and the pain and muscle problems of using my hands and arms after a few seconds minuites. sorry about spelling its sometimes hard just typing with one finger. how the hell am i and others supposed to go to work and roll around all day in pain its a bloody joke.

we should take the goverment to the europen courts, and the dss and doctors should be sued as they were wronge all along werent they ??. bloody hell how meny hollidays have i lost and loads of money i should have made cos i never new i was well.

makes my blood boil the low life way we are being treated:(

1 had my own company and i for one would not enploy me now or ever, sorry it makes u mad. also we could go from say 160.00 on ib and extra disability premeums or income support and end up on 64.00 pounds a week, then the house bills cant be paid as i and others will not be able to work.

i think all mps and the pm should get there houses paid for and they should be given either 64.00 pounds a week or say 100.00 and they should live on that for 12 months except for expensess.
lets see how the cretting go on, they will not last 2 weeks. sorry rant rant rant.

This was inevitable as the work group and JSA are the same anyhow, except you did get more money.

    No it is not.
You dont have to sign on every fortnight in the workgroup surely?

The ESA medical did find those people fit for work but needing help to get there. After 12 months that should have been concluded anyhow, otherwise you would have been put in the Support Group if you were really that ill.

What on earth? So all conditions in the workgroup will magically heal after 12 months?

Although nothing has been said yet, but I am half expecting that the appeal rate ESA will also go as you will be expected to claim JSA instead whilst waiting for the appeal.

You said in another post that is happening, I would appreciate a source for this, it is not something I have heard of at all.

All in all, not really a bad review if you think about it. Nothing has changed for those that are in the Support Group - which is quite right - they are the ones that have the worst problems.

I take it you missed the 21st century welfare consulation then that mentioned they are wanting to impose conditionality for those in the support group when the universal benefit is implemented?
The days of IB/ESA for coughs, colds, and the odd ingrowing toenail are well and trully gone - thank goodness!!

Outright lie - are you sure you are not a tory spin doctor?
You are not half repeating a lot of false propaganda, quite shameful really.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

I would love to know where these cures all are... At least 3 of my disabilities are permanent and I imagine many on ESA have permanent disabilities too.

    I'm with snoopy too.
As far as the 12 month rule goes,I honestly can't see it working, common sense has to come in somewhere.
    Surely.
Someone,by that an offiical body, disabled charity or whatever needs to take the government to task and legally challlenge how they can justify that people who have been told they are incapable of any work by one set of professionals working for them can now be deemed fit by another set of iindividuals working for them just because it suits them financially to move the goal-posts and adjust the rules.
It's utter madness and draconian to say the least.

    This is not a "Done-Deal"
Are these planned changes to benefit - all going ahead ?
Surely - they all need to go through parliament first ?
If so - they will not all be passed ....

One change is happening from today - all single parents once children are 7 on IS are being moved on to JSA and will need to prove that they are actively seeking work, otherwise lose benefit. I'm not sure if this is 1 year rule which they have a year to find work.

I know this isn't to do with ESA but this change is beginning today.

That is worryingly fast - how was this voted through parliament so quickly ?
