Which pairs were these fazeypie? None of our styles have gone up in price. Some are regularly going in and out of 'crazy deals of the day' but that would be a reduction of around £40.

If you can let me know which style you're talking about I can see what has happened there, but as I say, as far as I know, none of our styles have gone up by £10 recently.

I'm really sorry Tom, that style isn't going to be coming back into stock. We dropped the price as soon as we realised it was a problem, and I explained why it had happened, and alerted people here immediately.

There are still 124 styles on the site at £49/59, and those 124 styles make up many thousands of pairs of actual stock.

However, we do have differing levels of stock for different frames, so our most popular and best selling styles have more stock than the lower selling items. In this case it seems like a few styles were much more popular than we were anticipating.

Again, I'm really sorry that particular style that you wanted sold out.

the glasses direct web site was down so i was reluctant to commit

to purchasing the groupon coupon


when the web site is down how does a potential customer know if/when and how it will come back on line again

server issues at glasses direct? lack of investment in the web site?

bottom line is i would have purchased both the voucher and glasses had the web site been good/strong enough to cope with what seems to be limited volume


i missed out on the voucher and glasses direct on my custom


advice to glasses direct invest in a decent or more servers

please note their 2nd pair of glasses free £49 frames isn't a 2nd pair of glases free.
if you add $5 scratch resistance and £30 bifocals to a £49 frame you pay £84.

It is only the frame that is free therefore for the 2nd pair you pay $35.

For 2 pairs You pay £119 + delivery less groupon VOUCHER £49 + delivery = £70 + the £19 you paid groupon = £89 for 2 pairs.

not such good bargain after all especially when you consider the frames must cost less than £1 per pair to make.

i thought it was Martin's site's function to point out these type of matters.

Thanks but I have already received my refund from groupon and have placed an order elsewhere. I do appreciate the situation you are in With the mexx glasses and the help you have given on here. This time around though, it was simply a case of no styles being available to suit my budget, not your fault, my fault or groupon's fault, just one of those things.

EDIT. I went through to the payment page and put in the voucher code there and it worked. Great pair of distance glasses and pair of reading glasses for £19.00 groupon voucher and £5.00 for scratch resistant coating. Well done groupon and glasses direct and Martin
