  • ooh yes I would agree with lavidaloca - we have pedigree cats and they're very strict about who can breed. We've had to register her for breeding as we're thinking of doing the same as the OP, but are not sure as the cost can be astronomical. Think of all the extra food, injections, etc. and bear in mind they can't leave their mum for some time after they're born.

I think breeding animals is a long-term thing - it's not really to make easy top dollar. You really need your own stud if you're going to do that

i can fully understand wanting to keep nick jr on sky. i have 2 children under 3 and they love it.

we pay 21 pound a month and get all kiddies channels apart from cinemagic and disney movie channel. we don't get any movie channels but do get film 4. so this might be an option to think about.

There are thousands upon thousands of unwanted dogs in need of a good home. Is there really any need to add to the numbers?
  • Have you looked at getting back bank charges?

CBeebies is on freeview and is great for preschool age children as an alternative to nick jnr - good luck with your quest to become debt free!

Good luck on the job front - I asked at our local Tesco, but they had already received over 200 applications for 20 temporary jobs in the run up to Christmas - so my advice is to get in quick.
Another place worth trying could be the Post Office - they are recruiting for Christmas.
Or KERRY FOODS at Gilesgate Moor - they used to do a twilight shift - probably still do.

  • back to the dog breeding we have done lots of research and its a road that we may go down its an option its not the answer to our prayers and we know it wont solve our debt problems we are just saying its an option.
we have lowered the sky package to £22 per month thats a saving of £23 per month also today we lowered the bt package for the phone line only instead of having a calls package thats a saving of £ 10.99 per month also.
so little by little the change in all that we do is begining slowley but surely we will beat this my husband and i will get rid of this debt i kid you not.

  • Hi, I'm not sure what your circumstances are exactly with your OH being sick etc but my partner was off work for 18months due to an accident at work & we went through some tough times although thankfully we had mortgage repayment protection, but still managed to run up some debts we are still trying to clear. My partner was able to claim Incapacity benefit once the SSP period ended and he was then able to qualify for the disablility element of Tax Credits as I was still working, I'm not sure of the exact terms as this was a while ago now, see http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/menus/tc603r-notes_02-06.pdf (page 10 onwards) for more details.

Again with Tax Credits I also found leaflet WTC6 helpful,

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/leaflets/wtc6.htm.

    (HOPE THE LINKS WORK!)

My partner was also able to claim Industrial Injuries Benefit because the accident happened at work, but couldnt get Disablity allowances etc but they did allow him to have a disabled parking badge for a year which obviously helped as he wasnt very mobile but also meant that parking was free.

Thankfully he has now made a reasonable recovery although he will always suffer with back pain and is still assessed as 20% for IIB puposes this is the only benefit for the diability he now gets. He has been back at work full time for 18mths now and has recently got a different job and we are thankfully now 10k a year better off which is fantastic.

I hope some of the above may be of use.

    Good Luck.
  • illl try that
