  • As far as xmas pressis go I noticed in Somerfield yesterday toys for girls that seemed quite cheap. The barbie style dolls were £5 and they had other stuff aswell which looked a really good bargain.

I also noticed in Tesco big soft Winnie the Pooh's and Eyeores for £10 which I also thought was good.

well done in the start u have already made.

as for the children journey to school. do u have any friends locally who drive who may be able to take your children to school and maybe u offer the parent some money for petrol ? just while ur hubby isn't able to drive. just a thought

also with sky we had the 36 pound package. and we went throught a tight finaical patch a few months back. so we phoned them up and asked if we could cancel due to not ebing able to afford it. and they offered us the full package for 18 for 6 months and then to phone them back and talk to them if our situation hadn't improved.

  • Unfortunatley noone local goes to that school as its just out of the catchment area so i have no one to ask.I know some people have said that i cant afford to be fussy but i did take my son out of the school and put him in the local one round the corner to save money then when my 2nd son started school sept 05 i noticed how appalling it really was so took them both out(i did allow 10 months to give it a fair chance)and my oldest is much happier and the younger can now read and write which the other school didnt manage to do.So i still say thats the best thing i could have done.Hopefully theyll give my husband the ok to drive when he sees the neurologist as the black outs have stopped. This would save a fortune and we have 3 other children to start school over the next 3 years. My husband has been trying to get through to sky and its really busy so hell try later.Personally i dont care about the sky as i dont really watch it but husband loves the sport and has he doesnt drink/smoke or have a newspaper i dont feel it fair to begrudge him that. The films can go and music etc but nick jr is a must.We also have sky + which if we lower our large package we must pay £10 for.

i think you can live without skyplus cant you, as you are both at home most of the time, I cant see if you really wanted to see something youd actually miss it!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • True we're at home but its handy for the kids and as i generally dont get a chance to sit and watch tv till late i record everything plus we are tied to this definitley weve cut the package down to £22 so thats a small saving husband is ringing bt to try and sort out the phone and broadband.

  • Basically you have 2 choices. Cut your OUTGOINGS significantly, or boost your INCOMINGS significantly.

I don't want to be mean but it seems that every good suggestion is knocked back with "yeah, but, no, but." People on here give good advice, but if it's ignored then no, you wont get out of the situation. Nick Jr is NOT a must. Food is a must, a roof over your head is a must, sky plus, Nick JR etc are not a must, they are a "it will be nice to have when I have enough money for them."

Frankly, it doesnt actually affect anyone but your family what you choose to do to tackle your debts, but I do find it frustrating when all reasonable and sensible suggestions arer rejected because they wont allow you to continue your current lifestyl. Well unfortunately you cant, cause circumstances have changed.

To be fair they have listened to most advice-they've cut the sky down to £22 even though they are still on a 12month contract and the bus fares are awkward-I understand this as I live near them.
