Unfortunatley theyre under 8 otherwise i would have them out there working even just for their own luxuries i havent signed up with any free sites but every one seems to do that so ill give it a go.Im listing my kids old clothes and unwanted toys this week on ebay so fingers crossed.chevalier wrote:Hi there
Just to remind you about https://www.freecycle.org. You can get a lot of items for FREE there (you do have to sign up, but that is free too). We regularly have clothes for example on our site going free to someone. So you may wish to look there too, as well as ebay.
I appreciate that you are selling things on ebay, but have you thought about using Amazon for books. It looks like you get a better price there. Just a thought.
You may also want to sign up with some online cashback sites, (assuming you are not already). I make 90p a day just doing click throughs, ie where you don't have to buy anything. If you were diligent, this would net you £328.50 over the course of a year. Every little helps. There are also myster shopper sites, where you get some money for going to check out a restaurant etc.
Your situation is dire, but it will get better. Are any of your children old enough to get a paper round or saturday job to help out. Places like Boots etc will be taking on Christmas staff now, so may be they could help out that way?
Best of luck,

She only has dodgy ears is a spaniel so all spaniels have problems like that.anniestar wrote:If your dog has health problems is it wise to breed from her? Also if you are planning to do it correctly(and from reading all your threads I'm positive you would do NOTHING to risk her health) it will cose quite a lot even before you start to breed. A stud dog costs money also vet fees etc, puppies cost a lot extra heating, special food initial innoculations, worming treatments .Then advertising and getting the pupppies registered.PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS.There are far too many puppies that cant get loving homes as it is.She is your pet NOT a way of increasing your cash flow. Suprised Tescos at Dragonville won't deliver if you live near Durham City. ASDA is worth looking at online, not only do you get the same offers as in store, but in the DISCOUNTS/CODES section there is £10 off each £50/£35 shop, making delivery free plus £6 off the shopping. It also helps as you can check what is in (meal planning might be an idea with so many to feed check Old Style board for cheap meal ideas) rather than impulse buying. If you spend £50 ish each time, rather than a £100 shop, you can use the code more often. Split your shopping more often to save more. Busfares understand as live in Durham myself and they are crazy prices, but it might be worthwhile asking the LEA if there is any help available.
With the pet insurance, you might be still eligable for Pet Aid. If you get in touch with the vets in Lanchester I think that'll be the nearest one to you (seeing as Durham doesn't have a PDSA) and ask about registering on the Pet Aid scheme. You can only usually register one pet per family but worth asking all the same.
Also have you had your working tax credits reassessed since your husband was put on SSP ?One day I might be more organised...........

No weve looked into it and it doesnt cost much we have a friend with a golden cocker so will waiver the stud fee and our neighbour is an expert its definitley worth doing and we only have to pay the first excess £60 to the insurance if anything went wrong.Weve done our homework on this and know what we are doing. We love her and although there is lots of dogs with no homes people who really want a cocker pay a good price. We dont plan on using her as a business but even our vet said one litter is always good and best at about 2 years old.anniestar wrote:If your dog has health problems is it wise to breed from her? Have a lovely golden cocker spaniel shes the apple of our eye(other than our kids)Shes a bit nutty she seems to think shes a child.I think its a great idea to breed her apparently it calms them. And when we got her we hadf to pay for her papers so we can do the same (if)she gets pregnant.Charge for the pups but buyers have to pay for the papers and first innoculation. Its still official.cattie1 wrote:I can't believe sum1 told you to get rid of your dog! that's just not constructive at all!

the_taws_family_of_7 wrote:Someone last night before they closed my thread.I could never part with her ,and shes a form of paying some debt as we were going to breed her in a couple of months which should make us atleast £1000 if not more to pay off a debt.
You need to rethink this. You do not have any papers for your !!!!!, you hope the breeder will sell you the papers if she gets pregnant. Any reputable breeder would not want you to use the dog down the road. What if you can't sell the puppies - a litter of puppies after weaning, reared correctly, can soon start costing a lot of money. Also do you have the space and what if, God forbid, something happens to your precious pet. A litter of puppies won't calm her down but she could be a neurotic mum who could reject the puppies and then you have to hand feed and if that happens you'll all have a fulltime job. A pet !!!!! doesn't need a litter of pups. Please do not go down this road until you have all your finances sorted out and money in the bank.
I wish you and your family well and hope your husbands health improves.0
