I was correct, the stainless one is now selling at £19.99, £5 less than last month. I have one reserved at one of my local Argos stores! I must make sure I get the one I am supposed to after reading the issues some had getting the one they had paid for.

    HTH someone!
Megga thanks for the post. :T:T:A:A I am going to take mine back and the £14.99 one I got for a friend as well and get 2 of the SS ones at the reduced price. I can also use the £5 vouchers I got as well, so even cheaper:D
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

The stainless steel slicer is showing as £19.99 and valid until the 9th November, so it is valid for one week! I will edit my post to make sure that it clear!

I got my slicer and it was the one I was supposed to get. :j I also got the 6.2 litre slow cooker which was reduced from £29.99 to £13.99. Now I can do the joints in the slow cooker and then slice them in my slicer. :j Of course I can only use slow cooker when I read a few threads on here for a few hints and tips! :o :j :money:

    Thanks.

I have been after one for ages but they were too dear. £20 is just right.

I've reserved one in Yeovil (Babylon Hill). They have 2 left and there are 2 in town as well.

The missus will kill me when I turn up with another kitchen gadget!
  • Thanks, I just reserved mine for collection from Irvine today.
  • May I ask...if someone who has the correct folding stainless steel model would mind answering:

-is the whole body made of metal, or is it plastic with metal parts added? The description and web picture is not that clear. I am assuming it is all metal.

-what did the box look like that it came in? So people know what to expect, and don't get palmed off unknowingly with a substitute. I know you can also look at items before you buy, but not always possible if there are long queues and someones in a hurry.

Thanks, might help some one here. Good luck with purchases everyone :)

PS. still very happy with my slicer, nothing is safe! :rotfl:

  • Hi, just collected the folding stainless steel version from Inverness argos for £19.99. It is not all stainless steel, and i was suprised how light it was when i collected it. There are 3 speeds, and a knob on the side to change the width of your slices. The blade has a twist lock to remove for easy cleaning. The box is grey and has 'cookworks signature' on it, and a picture of the device. The picture is of the folded product, so you will know instantly that you have the right one. Worth £20, but would not have paid more, cut an apple up fine! Testing Testing!

    Hi all,
Can anyone who has one confirm it is good for hot roast joints - only only when cold - eg gammon. Thanks
  • Bushcaro- I have the white slicer, it is fine at slicing hot roasts. As the stainless one looks like the same design, I imagine that would do as well. I only find I need to be a bit more careful with a hot roast, as it is more slippery than a chilled one :)
