I read somewhere on this site that Soda Crystals helped to make things cheaper and maybe cleaner (?)

I had them on my shopping list for ages and have finally found some. Only problem now is i cant remember what i was supposed to be doing with them.

I use them half and half with washing powder. Also I put a scoop with some hot water in my butler sink and use the water to clean the floor. When the floor's dry, I let the water go and clean the sink - just needs wiping after its soak rather than scrubbing.

Other people on here use them for lots of other things - I'm sure they'll be along!

    I put them down sinks.

Recently used half a bag in my washing machine which had started to smell. Seems that if you do 40 or 30 washes this becomes a very common problem. The seal starts to grow mould on it. Made worse if you use liquid detergent so the advice was use half a packet of soda crystals and put on a boil wash.

Why do you add to washing? Do you use it in additon to powder or insead of?

Soda crystals are brilliant at removing grease when you mix them with hot water. I cleaned the kitchen tiles - above the cooker - with no problems, usually it takes ages!

Can you use Soda Crystals in your COLOUR wash? I've read that you can use it in your whites, but what about colours and darks??
