Lighten up, it was just a joke. I have an odd humour. :D Churchmouse was spot on with her explanation. Life's too short to worry about signatures on board guide comments. How pedantic.

It is a valid topic for discussion if someone wants to raise it. If you are not interested you dont need to bother with it.

So you dont support the comments on the thread which question the validity of the poster for mentioning she wears a wig? nor those like Britney's which lapsed into ridicule?

I was not insulting you about who you had lost to cancer, rather refraining from giving you my list of relatives who sadly are no longer with us for the same reason, as there is no relevance to the subject matter.

You clearly want to misrepresent my angle on this issue and use the perceived and convenient hook of personal sadness as something to pin it on, so I say again, no personal sadness, just an example of why there is/was a need to be sensitive.

No poet you are the one misrepresenting things. Show me one post I thanked or made on that thread that supported mocking the OP? You won't because you can't, because I haven't. I got involved because it seemed like a witch hunt of the boardguide. You used your friend to illustrate a cancer sufferer saving hairdressing costs by wearing a wig. I pointed out that my relatives who wore wigs did not do so to save hairdressing costs. It would be a very unusual thing to do. You are showing no sensitivity, or even honesty by refusing to admit you are manipulating things to suit yourself. You are posting as fact without the slightest bit of checking and then citing "implied" reasoning. Please stick to the facts not your suppositions. THIS thread is about boardguides having their signatures in personal posts. Why do you insist on linking it with the other thread???

.......little wonder it elicited the thanks from the same quarters that found no problem with mocking a new poster for wearing a wig (when not knowing or caring if it was due to medical reasons).

Just for the record, I thanked the post with the pic of the world map in it it.....I did so because I'd read through the thread and had no idea what it was all about and it seemed to me that people were just kinda biatching at each other and it was getting ridiculous.

I thought the pic was meant as a jokey post to disrupt the arguing tbh. I took the area pointed to, to simply mean a small place in the middle of nowhere.

At the time I thanked the post, I had no idea what the wig reference was about. Now that I've clarified that....I will bow out again and leave you all to your Mad Hatter Tea Party arguments. ;):D

Edit: Oh well this gets stranger and stranger.....I've just spotted the post by Churchmouse, listing the people who thanked Aussielass....and I'm not in it. I did thank but for some reason my name's not there. Oh well....I'm taking that as an omen that I'm just not meant to be involved in all this. :rotfl:*waves bye and wishes you all strength for the next round if there is to be one* ;):D

No it's not a picture of mine. It's DH's. He disagreed with me once. :D

I echo with what CM & AliasJo said. This thread is mixed up with another & it's pretty confusing. Maybe there is history behind it that it only makes sense to those in the know. ;)

IF a board guide posts negative things towards another poster, it gives a green light (an unoffical stamp of approval) for others to wade in & follow suite.

This happened recently (& has happened in the past). If it wasn't "the board guide - the person in charge, who said things then I think others wouldn't think it quite so acceptable.

This post by MrsE clearly referred to the other thread so the ensuing comments came from that.

Was that speculation worse than speculating about and then accusing outright another poster (and a newbie at that) of being a troll when she mentioned wearing a wig? not in my book.

This was a direct question asked of you re the other thread and whether it was worse than Cerdiwen speculating on the source of the PM to MrsE. You chose not to answer.

Still you wont answer whether you agree with the comments on that thread, a simple thing which would clear it up once and for all, and would result in an apology from me for misunderstanding your stance.

Although as you have admitted that you got involved because of PP it would appear to most people that you would only do so if you agreed with her comments, but again, I could be wrong so please tell me if that is the case and you jumped in for some other reason.

The fact that you consider my friends case "unusual" (supposition?) does not negate its validity (nor that of the OP in that thread)

This thread has evolved and now obviously encompasses the thread which lead MrsE to ponder on whether a BG should have their sig in ever post. There is clearly a relationship between the two and it is disingenuous of you to try to deny it.

So, no misrepresentations, and in the interest of clarity, just a simple question, do you support the comments PP and others made on that thread which I and 16 others (those who thanked the two posts which cautioned that such comments were preventing the OP returning) considered mocking?

If yes, you prove my point, if no, I will certainly apologise. If you dont give a straight answer, or answer at all, everyone will have to make their own judgement call.

You cast aspersions on my honesty, now is your chance to prove yours.

Ah, I see, so it was the time of day and the reference to frugality in the title that was her downfall? and the thankers also number those who are on this thread defending/smoothing over the comments.

I really don't have much more to say on this subject except that maybe having watched a very close friend battle the trauma of needing to wear a wig seeing someone seemingly having their validity questioned because of it gives me a sense of humour by pass, for which I will not apologise, nor accept that the comments made were anything less than insensitive, and against the spirit of the forums be nice policy.

Please forgive me if I sound dim , but the thread title is

Board guides personal posts , and posted in Forum policy

As far as I read , there was a question about PMs & board guides , and no mention of your friend .

I fully understand you reason for being upset NOW , but in diffence of everyone that thanked AussieLass , unless I missed something there was no mention of your friend in the thread ? Simply several pages of accusations , then a post by Aussie Lass , meant in a light hearted way . Clearly I am as confused as everyone else now .

I wasnt referring to everyone who thanked the post;) only those who did so in the knowledge of the other thread. The two threads are inextricably linked, (despite those who assert differently) as one prompted the other. Hope that clears up the confusion?:D:D

Poet, I've looked at some of your recent posts and now I see this is your style, to twist people's words and stir things up, with little or no regard for facts. I will bow out gracefully before you can twist any more of mine.
