I am not confused by the geography but the meaning/inference.

I'm not - where I come from the inference to be taken from that is !!!!!iness.

Note to self - where some other people come from it counts as humour....

    Oh boy......

Yes, that was my take on it too, but I would just like confirmation that that was indeed the intent.;)
  • I don't think it was, Aussielass has a really (sometimes self) deprecating sense of humour, I think she was simply trying to break the tension by cracking a joke.

I think she was saying "you must be mistaking me for someone who gives a fluck" but with better language.

That all being the case, I'm surprised she posted

PS was joking about the Falklands:D

There was nothing self deprecating about that crack;) but how nice of her to pop in with such a valuable and insightful comment.....little wonder it elicited the thanks from the same quarters that found no problem with mocking a new poster for wearing a wig (when not knowing or caring if it was due to medical reasons).
  • I would be very surprised if anyone who thanked that post mocked Dora for wearing a wig.

I am sorry Jackie, but those who called her a troll used that reason....what else would you call it?
  • But did any of the people who thanked Aussielass's post make reference to Dora being a troll because of her wig wearing. I can only speak for myself, and say I never. I thought the post seemed odd because of the title she used, and the time of day it was posted. Those strange, getting a dig at OS posts almost invariably start in the morning, I couldn't understand why someone would call the post that if they were serious. I don't think Pennylane has ever been in OS is her MSE life, and I don't recall, but to be perfectly honest CBA'd checking, any of the other posters being the ones who questioned the OP.

Ah, I see, so it was the time of day and the reference to frugality in the title that was her downfall? and the thankers also number those who are on this thread defending/smoothing over the comments.

I really dont have much more to say on this subject except that maybe having watched a very close friend battle the trauma of needing to wear a wig seeing someone seemingly having their validity questioned because of it gives me a sense of humour by pass, for which I will not apologise, nor accept that the comments made were anything less than insensitive, and against the spirit of the forums be nice policy.
