Ceridwen said "I think we can all hazard a few guesses" She may not have been the only one who was suspecting the wrong individuals of having sent the PM. I doubt anyone thought Venus had sent it. You chose to publicise ( against the rules ) the PM, that decision was yours and yours alone. Do you think ceridwen's comment was right ( the one about hazarding a guess )? I know she's your friend so maybe you'll want to avoid answering
;)
We can only be responsible for our own posts not those of others, so if MrsE's reference to the PM drew that comment from Ceridwen, only Ceridwen can be held accountable for that.
I will say that many comments on all boards are accompanied by speculation.
Was that speculation worse than speculating about and then accusing outright another poster (and a newbie at that) of being a troll when she mentioned wearing a wig? not in my book.0 -
Savvy_Sue, the problem arises when someone says they've received a threatening PM, and then others think they can "guess" who sent it. Spreads a shadow over innocent people. I think that's the sort of reference to PMs being referred to.
Think I'll leave this now.You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

I still think that if you are a BG you should lead by example. How can you (with integrity) ask others to refrain from doing xyz or to remember the "be nice" rule if you dont do so yourself?0 -

And if you feel a BG isn't "being nice" then will you PLEASE report it???
It's NOT something to be debated in a topic any more than someone elses conduct - it's a matter for the Abuse team to decide on what action to take. Same as it is for any board user.
I've often posted on threads where I have become deeply emotionally involved in a subject very close to my heart - and if I think "hmmmm that's getting a little heated" I actually report MYSELF to abuse to look at the thread and if they decide to remove my posts then I accept their judgement. I'm human and I have views on the world... I'm sorry but I can't stop that any less than I can breathing (though many would probably wish I would stop both lol) .
Remember that BGs are just as fallible as anyone else - we're not holier than thou (unless you're referring to my socks... they're often pretty holey!) but we do expect not to be singled out as targets like we often are. If you have an issue with a BG then there are official channels to deal with that through - having a "good old go" at them on a thread is NOT the way to do it.
If you think the post has been removed then it's entirely possible that Abuse is aware of it - but if in doubt report it anyway with as much detail as you can give and Abuse will be able to investigate it. They can search even posts you have deleted (or any post someone has deleted) so can actually look into it fully.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Can't even find it now.

It may not warrant reporting, rather just commenting on as you would with any other poster, or are you saying because they are a BG they should be exempt from that?
I would not report someone for making a comment I didnt like, I would say have you thought that saying xyz may be less than sensitive...why would I treat a BG differently?
I am not meaning to be difficult here, but if you are advocating treating a BG as you would others then that is what I would do.
Out of interest, do you feel that a BG should lead by example?0 -

Nope...what you cant make any clearer is that a little bit of "trouble" would liven the day up for you.
Sh*t-stirring ill becomes people - and there has certainly been plenty of that on this thread.....
Its not nice to call someone "obtuse" - and also not accurate either.
As we know who sent the PM in question - why does it matter to you to keep on - and on - and on about it?
Seems to me theres another apology due now - looking forward to hearing it.....0 -

I'm sure the poster you sent a pm to as your ae (telling her to stop posting) would like an apology too.0 -
In reference to this PM you are referring to - you might care to ask the poster concerned what nasty/untrue comment they put up that anyone would feel the need to ask them not to put up any more nasty/untrue comments on the Boards. Taking the verdict of someone who doesnt like a poster at face value - without stopping to think that that comment might well have been biased/inaccurate precisely because they dislike that poster doesnt strike me as very objective/fair/etc.
End of discussion as far as I am concerned - I cant be !!!*d with people who have nothing better to do with their time than to make !!!!!y comments based on an inaccurate assessment of what has actually happened.
I have no time for !!!!!y comments ITRW - so I dont see why I should bother with them on here.
So - having established that you dont like me either - then can I suggest you just put my posts on "ignore".0 -
