Do you think it's that or just that they want to speak in Welsh? I understand from friends that some Welsh-speakers feel very strongly about Welsh to the point that they feel that a group of people shouldn't be obliged to speak English instead just because one person can't speak Welsh. (Which from a pragmatic maintaining the language point of view makes sense but obviously isn't very nice on a personal level.) Also (although I wouldn't think this would apply to parents sending their child to a Welsh medium school) I've been told that often people who can't speak Welsh aren't supportive of people who are raising their children to speak Welsh so that could also be a factor.

Coming from a very rural area of Wales I can tell you this is true. I've posted info for Weezl before about my experiences, at 11 I wasn't allowed to go to the local school as I couldn't speak Welsh well enough so had to go to one 10 miles away. My sister was fluent in Welsh (I'd been living in England) so went to the Welsh school, she got bullied for being English and having a scally English sister!!!

I find it's the parents of the 'Welshy Welsh' kids that are the worst!

Anyways, sorry for being MIA for so long :o Please don't worry about me too much.

I'm pretty rubbish at most things at the mo including keeping in touch with people!

J is a handful and by the time I've worked, got home sorted him out and put him to bed I'm too knackered to do much! He's still not sleeping, is now climbing over everything, running everywhere, shouting all the time and has been a monkey at nursery. He's been snatching toys, pushing kids over and today he's bitten someone! He's a terror but very funny!

Hope everyone's OK, I'll try and post a bit more often!

BTW - got a new Tattoo last week and I love it :D
Got the word Angel with wings above it at the top of my back - it's fab!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

That's terrible - there would be uproar if someone wasn't allowed to go to an English speaking school because their English wasn't "good enough".

I'm sure you are good at lots of things. Making mince go a long way springs to mind.

Terrible. I'd forgotten how much I hated being pregnant. :(

  • Oh no, I am sorry to hear it's that bad Susan. Did it hit at 5 and a half weeks like with Alice?

Friday will be the equivalent of the day when I was first sick loads and couldn't stop. I just feel sick and tired all the time. I've been sleeping 12-16 hours per day but I am too tired to do anything and even if I wasn't too tired it would probably make me sick if I did anything. Just the energeticness of getting dressed almost makes me throw up.

  • Oh Susan, that sounds really horrible. I really hope that you don't get any worse, and that it doesn't last as long as last time.

Me too but I can't say I'm feeling too optimistic about the prospects.
