Does anybody else see the irony that we (in general) don't want our kids to watch too much TV but then in the next breath, go on to list all our fav's from childhood? :rotfl:
This is why I've made sure Alice does watch some contemporary children's TV programmes. People who grew up in another country (or didn't have a TV as a child) often feel left out when people start reminiscing about these things as they can't join in at all.

  • There is an offer on Thorntons where if you spend £60 you get a £60 hamper free, plus there was another hamper reduced from £120 to £60 so you get £180 of chocs for £60. Perfect for finishing off the Christmas shopping!

Sorry the kids have passed it on to you Mel. Hope you feel better soon.

  • Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't read back yet as I've only just got on. Have no broadband (or phone yet either), but lovely hubby bought me a mobile dongle so that I wouldn't suffer too much from the withdrawal pains!
Anyway, have now MOVED!!! It was a bit touch and go, especially when Freddie came down with vomiting and diawoowoo on Thursday, but we did it. Now surrounded by boxes...
Hope you are all alright and hugs to anyone who needs them.

Wow where is everyone? Love all the talk of older childrens tv shows I have fond memories of so many of them. Have to confess I am one for having the TV on for background noise :o I do have childrens TV on for T but she is reall only intrested in the music, she does show intrest in waybuloo, and the tweenies when there singing. But she ignores the rest really and just stops to dance along (or more recently clap). I like chuggington and OH likes mr maker tho haha.

T has a horrid cough and is being very clingy atm, she wakes up each time she coughs and if she cant see me starts to cry pitifully. So we are now both lying on the bed, her fast asleep and Ive just been catching up on some smallville season 10 :D She looks so sad when she coughs but at least this way she nods straight back off.

If anyone felt like writing an outline angry e-mail to Emma's Diary for me so that all I need to do is add the details of all the times I've unsubscribed and they've e-mailed me I would be very grateful. They're still sending me them and I all my complaint energies have gone into the hospital complaint.

I had a spinal and my back is horrific almost 4 months on, is this a common problem following a spinal? Sorry I'm amazed to read some one mention this!

It is one of the things that is mentioned on the sheet you signed as a risk. Don't know officially how common it is though. SIL has a bad back from her spinal (em c section after fetal distress). My back was fine after the epidural with DS1 (however that may be because it wasn't in my spine properly). But yeah, after Amber (spinal for C section) it was pretty sore. Calmed down now and most of the past few months was to do with my bed. Still gets stiff once a month for a few days.

You can go and see your GP about it, get some physio. It usually does get better though.
