On the radio yesterday there was a discussion about whether parents of babies now should be rethinking their savings strategies in the light of possible future changes to university education.
I wondered what you guys were all thinking of doing, if your children going to uni is something you'd like, that is!
Thanks in advance if anyone is willing to share their thoughts on this.

I'm thinking that dependent on what their long term plans are, OU may be a more cost effective option.
And have you got plans to save for the fees, or another idea in mind?

The plane is fun, never attempted the helicopter.
.
the helicopter is what I took DD on age 4 months, she just slept even through the noise. I've not been on the plane and the scillionian makes us all sick too, we try to sleep for as much as possible. In 2002 I spent the summer working at the starcastle, best summer ever.
Well I'm just waiting for OH to get home, could be a couple of hours, but he needs to watch the baby so I can go to hospital and they are going to drain my boob so at least it will be sorted.0 -
It is one of the things that is mentioned on the sheet you signed as a risk. Don't know officially how common it is though. SIL has a bad back from her spinal (em c section after fetal distress). My back was fine after the epidural with DS1 (however that may be because it wasn't in my spine properly). But yeah, after Amber (spinal for C section) it was pretty sore. Calmed down now and most of the past few months was to do with my bed. Still gets stiff once a month for a few days.
You can go and see your GP about it, get some physio. It usually does get better though.
Thanks Tiafunnily enough I didn't sign anything... I didn't even know I was having one, I was told to sit up and keep still, next thing I remember going numb. I didn't have a c section. Might ask OH what he remembers. Thanks for the tip on physio. Some days the pain is awful
Red well done on moving! Hope it wasn't too stressful.
T woke me 3amI tried not to go to him straight away then I felt awful as he was soaked thru. He then polished off 240mls and wanted more. He then woke 8.45am and took another 240mls no problem. Could he be gearing up to be weaned? Or is this just the growth spurt?! I don't particularly want to wean before 6 months, maybe earliest new year, but milk really doesn't seem to satisfy him anymore.

My older two already have savings account and we save what we can for them already which is not alot. Their birthday money or christmas money normally goes in there too unless they just got clothes and there is a toy they want then I let them buy it. Hopefully they will use the money wiseley when they are older but they will probably blow the lot. TBH they will be lucky if its enough to cover driving lessons and towards a first car, which can be more worthwhile than a degree (I have one, it was in a science and it is worthless to me).0

As a plus bobby got his £50 CTF voucher through the post yesterday and since the older twos have performed so badly he is probably going to be starting at a level playing field lol. I never put more money in these accounts and always just considered whatever they got at the end a bonus.0
