Aless, buy a pack of Aldi spekulatius and use them to make the base for an eggnog cheesecake using the avocaat. It is agonisingly nom and you will have to make another every day until you run out of eggnog, and then you will have to buy more. It is that nom.

WE CAN HAZ CHRISTMAS TREEEEEE!!! We brought it home on the bus and the train and my humbug husband - after insisting we got one no taller than me and preferably only 4' (I'm 5'2) - looked at all the little ones and decided they were bobbins. So we have one that's taller than him (6') :j:j:j:j:j:j Now I'm going to decorate it and perhaps open some wine.

And just for you I haz....

    Aless:

    Eggnog Cheesecake
1/2 cup digestive crumbs or spekulatius if you love living
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1.5 tablespoons melted butter

1.5 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
    1.5 tablespoons flour
    1/2 cup eggnog
    1 egg
    1 tablespoons rum
    1/2 pinch ground nutmeg
    Preheat oven to 165 degrees.
In a medium bowl combine biscuit crumbs, 2 tablespoons sugar and butter. Press into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool.
Preheat oven to 220 degrees C.
Combine cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, flour and eggnog; beat until smooth. Blend in eggs, rum and nutmeg. Pour mixture into cooled crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 100 and bake for 45 minutes, or until centre of cake is barely firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and immediately loosen cake from rim. Let cake cool completely before removing the rim.

  • SS I'm laughing at the image of you taking the christmas tree home on the bus :)

Poorly girl is properly poorly here :( I ended up sleeping in her room, and we've been in bed together this afternoon. Not sure I got to sleep, I'm still nackered but never mind. I'm contemplating putting the wii on and seeing if izzy wants to watch me playing on it. I don't know what she will make of it, but i might give it a try :)

    Think you meant Susan :)

The tree is up but it is still very wet so I am letting it sit before putting stuff on it. Screamy Screamerpants is in bed pretending she doesn't need to go to sleep and the stuff still on my list is either stuff that needs to wait because the tree is wet or stuff I hate doing. And putting marzipan on the cake but I CBA :o

Hope Izzy is better soon, it's rotten when they're miserable and you can't fix them.
