Glad you sorted one dilemma Mel.x
Just paid out an obscene amount of money to fix the car only for it to not start last night, no click on turning key nothing. OH reaction was to hyperventilate and wonder how to get to work, while little me calmly pointed out we have advantage gold and so Green Flag, "bet they don't do home start" rants OH, me calmly points to computer screen showing words "home start", They come out and fix the car, no cost and I collect MASSIVE brownie points for having Advantage gold and staying calm in a crisis. Spend all evening taking mick out of husband !( Did not admit had thought of cancelling Advantage Gold last week to save some pennies)
Have a good day all.xx
:T:TWell done you, now he best do some serious 'you are great' dinner making and housework for you;)
Thanks everyone, I very much doubt I will do anything about my other dilemma, although she is not religious (or at least not overly so) she does abide by 'rules' so if they say that it has to be, she won't go against it, proof required or not! SO, it's just tough luck on me really:( But we are good friends and see each other quite regularly with the kids so I will always have a part in both her daughters lives xxUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Hope he gets there Aless xxx
Tia I was so mad I could barely speak in any language, although because I'd shouted for help as he was moving her a lot of people were staring disapprovingly and tutting. I did tell him that I knew a place he could store his groceries though and called him an Arschloch
Mel, that's a bit sad that your friend won't mess with the rules, but it's also good that you get to be a part of their lives. I'm glad your sister was so good about you stepping down as well and hopefully her having offered and you having accepted and then you having a graceful mutual stepping down will help your relationship a bit.
We now have a tidy dining room and I'm partway through clearing the corner of the decorative artefacts that live in it. PITA all this clutter, for a man who claims to like things with function and not care about aesthetics my husband has a lot of stuffOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

 All these stories make me glad I don't go major shopping in the run up to Christmas. We have shops in the village and OH picks things up on his way to/from work.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

I hate shopping in the run up to christmas. In Asda people always try to cut in the queue and it angers me :rotfl:
Last xmas me and DH went to Tesco Express on xmas eve and got our food for the next day, it was empty and lovely
I did catch up, but it was on my phone this morning, so i've forgotten everything i wanted to reply to.0 -
Cool. The revision stuff has been put on my college virtual learning enviroment. I may have half a hope of passing an assessment on Tuesday.0

hello
I have read back, but I'm struggling to remember it all! I'm so tired today. We got out for a long walk yesterday and it really took it out of me - what a wimp two weeks of snow turned me into :rotfl:
Got the car out now and have to hit the supermarketwe're out of everything and I've got sme yummy recipes I want to make next week and of course have to eat to survive, so when LO wakes up we are off there. I would leave her with DH, but helpfully, his social diary is more exciting than mine. Never mind, hopefully she'll be in good form when she wakes up *fingers crossed*
LO amazes me almost everyday - today she's been obsessed with singing songs. she knows all the actions, many of the words and has definite opinions on whether she wants to row the boat, wind the bobbin up or twinkle the starsVery cute.
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I just bought a bottle of advocaat on a whim and now I have no idea what to do with it :rotfl:
Feeling very Christmassy after watching the Glee Christmas special...LOVE IT. Finn scarfed pretty much a whole McD's hamburger (well, all of the meat and most of the bun) so he's definitely back on form. I think I shall go download a few Christmas CDs (my MP3s are still trapped on the other dead hard drive) and chill for a bit before hanging the laundry up.

Mel - I dont know if this was suggested before when you were asking about it (sorry wasnt online to post comment and by the time i read everyone had pretty much said what I would have...
Just a thought - could you suggest to her that you are her LO's Fairy Godmother? And maybe have a little tea party celebration by yourselves with all your diddy peoples? I'd love to have someone to be L's Fairy Godmother.... Im not religious, but I like the idea/thought of having someone as a guide to L, through this maze called life, to be there for him for any question/thoughts/guidance if he felt he couldnt talk to me and DH, and to support him.....
having a clear out of the shelf under our coffee table where everything gets shoved LOL a bag to be shred a bag to be thrown out. baby L is now chirping away to himself, horrifically high pitched but at least not too loud...
And he's figured out how to roll forwards, lift the front of his body up on his arms and then roll back again!!!!! WHOOP WHOOP.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Aless, buy a pack of Aldi spekulatius and use them to make the base for an eggnog cheesecake using the avocaat. It is agonisingly nom and you will have to make another every day until you run out of eggnog, and then you will have to buy more. It is that nom.
WE CAN HAZ CHRISTMAS TREEEEEE!!! We brought it home on the bus and the train and my humbug husband - after insisting we got one no taller than me and preferably only 4' (I'm 5'2) - looked at all the little ones and decided they were bobbins. So we have one that's taller than him (6') :j:j:j:j:j:j Now I'm going to decorate it and perhaps open some wine.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
