Mel would you get any say in the dress you are going to wear?
When it comes to trying one one, if it doesn't suit say so. I was a bridesmaid once in a dress I wasn't comfortable in, colour and size weren't right so as soon as I was able changed out of it, which didn't go down well with the bride.

Jillie I have just noticed your signature - very well done!! :T
Susan I like your new quote too
Charlotte is just so funny. I really lovel hearing about all the little ones on this thread, but I have to say there are a few who stand out as being exceptionally cute, and Charlotte is definitely one of those.
All good here. DS has been in Daddy Day Care as I have been working at home today. When I go back to my regular job in January I am going to leave a Daddy Day Care hamper out the first morning I go. In it will be the Daddy Day Care DVD, a t shirt for DS which says "Daddy's Little Side-kick" (both coming from ebay) and a few other items yet to be decided. Any ideas greatly appreciated! Not spending much but thought it would be fun and after making up the hampers for xmas pressies I'm totally addicted now.0 -

She has already picked the dresses, strapless, above knee, shiny satiny black numbers.... Her theme is black and white with shots of red... oh and the dresses are slightly flaredUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

But has she got them in the right size? I didn't think you looked big in the photo you (think it was you) posted on the PG thread when LO was born (hope I'm not totally wrong and it wasn't you:rotfl:)
ETA: Slightly flared is better than pencil type:)Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Ahhh, can see where the pressure is coming from now.
It's not a style that I would be comfy in either, for probably the same reasons.
Would it be possible to just wear the dress for the ceremony and pictures and change into something more comfortable for the reception? Explaining that you need something slightly more child friendly for the rest of the day?Proud to be dealing with my debts

Mel - When my brother and sil got married a few years ago they asked me to be bridesmaid, along with dd1 who was just 3 at the time of the wedding.
The previous year I had been bridesmaid for a close friend and although I loved it and was flattered I also found it very stressful - I was the only one with kids (and therefore not a size 10 like the others!!). I also had to arrange dress fittings, spray tans, hairdressers etc around 2 kids. I'm not one for alot of attention/had low self so didn't like all the attention. Saying all this though, I had a fabulous day and feel very proud to be involved.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
