Cillit Bang. tried once in desperation when I'd run out of less industrial stuff. It will probably remove some of the paint too though so don't try it if your bedroom is a dark colour!

Can I just cry please? My house still has tons of stuff in it, it desperately needs a deep clean once I've packed, baby is waking up, he needs to be fed, then I need to get A from school - I've only got three more days, of which I'll be able to devote about 3 hours a day to the house if I'm lucky. I have two boxes left to pack things in. DH is in bed, I've had hardly any sleep, and I'm starting to freak out. I'm NEVER going to be finished in time to get out on Friday

Boo for first day back at work Kindof
Red - I am sure it will all come together....have you got any carrier bags/bin bags that you can just shove stuff into, just to get it 'packed' and ready to go? Also have you or dh got any friends/work mates that could possibly come and give a hand, and maybe get a mummy friend to take A home with them and give her dinner, even if you arrange that for tomorrow..... I am sure you have probably thought of all these options so sorry if i'm just stating the obvious. Have some ((hugs)) too:)

Red - I second what Mel said, nyhting that can go in carrier bags/bin bags, such as clothes, anything soft/light. Can you do a quick dart to a supermarket etc for more boxes? even if its just the fruit and veggie ones, theyre quite stable for things like books etc.
You will get it done, and it will all be fine, best thing you can do right now (as hard as it is) take a break, have a drink, sit down, and maybe write out a plan, stick to one room, get it cleared completely, I recommend smaller rooms first, such as bathroom.
I've moved so many times and always end up with so much in carrier bags.
Does your OH work nights or is he ill in bed? Sorry i couldnt remember..... Is there anyone you can ask to come over and watch over the littlies, could you maybe get A to sort of help you this afternoon?Make it a kind of game? like all soft toys into a bin bag?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
thanks for your suggestions, it helps just being able to vent on here. DH is ill in bed at the moment and has been since yesterday morning, and I don't really have anyone I can ask to help - the few people I feel comfortable asking, are already helping us out tremendously and I don't feel I can ask them for anything more.
I've asked on freecycle for some boxes and I think I've been offered some, so I'll have to pop out later and get them.
I think I am getting there slowly, it just feels like it's taking forever, and there's still loads to do.
It doesn't help that I want to rant at DH for leaving me to it, even though I know that he's really unwell, and keeps being sick - I know it's not his fault, but it doesn't make it any easier.Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

I hope he feels better soon hun, not just to help you but generally.....
Those who are helping you are doing so because they love you, and want to help. Plus you can always make it up to them in the New Year
I know what its like when it gets a bit 'wood for the trees', but I promise you it will all work out fine. Is it rented you're moving out of? And when do you have to hand over keys?
I'm having a teary day today, happy teary though. I had to run out at 9am into town for formula as DH is working full days all week but started at half 11 this morning, and we would have needed it later in the week but I cant be sure when the snow would thaw o get out with pushchair.....
Anyway 9am i was all bundled up, an walking under the underpass, regular homeless bloke asked me for any spare change and I said no sorry, and he wished me a good day and said thankyou..... So I got my formula, about to make for home, darted into starbucks and bought a large hot chocolate, walked back through underpass and gave it to homeless bloke, who was so thankful, I told him I dont give money, but i wanted to know he'd had a hot drink today, and he was still calling after me when i got to the end of the tunnel saying thankyou and god bless..... so I cried, when I got home, when I sat down to feed L. Just thinking that man is someone's baby....
DH told me he's probably a drunk or a druggie, or both, and I dont care..... It was a good thing to do, and I would rather do it and be the fool, than to have not done it....
And NOW L is growing up,he's been sat up by himself quite well today, I've had to lift the back recline on his swing up so he can play with his toys in it, and hes starting to engage a lot more..... Oh and he ate all the porridge I made for him LOL
Mel and Kindof - and everyone else that wrote (sorry baby brain) about weaning, thanks for tips (oh and Gill ( just remember)). I did a dessert spoon of porridge and some of his formula to mix it rather than water so the taste was similar..... and he crammed it in LOLlittle wee porker....
He generally has
7am - 150-210mls formula
10am - 210mls
1pm 210mls
4/4:30pm 210mls
6:30pm 210mls
The timings vary slightly dependant on the morning wake up, and naps etc....
So with his 1pm feed today he had 1 dessert spoon of porridge mixed with 2 1/2 dessert spoons of formula and then drunk the rest of the bottle.....
I've been giving him the porridge first as well, rather than as is suggested by most of what ive read to do some bottle, feed porridge then rest of bottle. He doesnt like bein interrupted on the bottle LOL and wont go back to it.Wealth is not measured by currency0
