  • Evening all. Just back from the in-laws. I tried the putting pjs on before we leave to get straight into bed when we get home but it didn't work - I've now got sleeping child on my lap (will go transfer to bed in a mo though - I need bath and bed myself!). She didn't want to come home though. I told her that I was going and if she didn't find her wellies she would have to stay there. Big mistake :rotfl:Big tantrums because she wanted to stay wuth granny. Se hasn't dne that yet, but maybe soon :j.

Oh, and I've made mince pies with left over puff pastry. More like mince conrnish pasties, as I couldn't be bothered to mess around with cutting things up, but they taste good :)

    Thanks, you are loverly! :T

I feel like we must be really behind or something LOL L has only just started being given baby porridge and he's 5 1/2 months, and T was a june baby as well as is doing all the above....

Maybe I'l put his bottles up and see how we go with that....

Would I be better (subject to Baby L approval) increasing his milk feeds first and getting him to 4 a day and then adding in porridge or doing them side by side???

Weaning is the one area I feel like Ive got no idea with, and find I cant get my head around whats on t'internet....

CAFC - you're not behind at all - NHS advice is 6 months/24 weeks so you're pretty much spot on. That's not a dig at anyone who has weaned early, I know all babies are different and you need to follow their cues.

Are you going down the puree route? If so I would recommend getting a book. I used Weaning by Annabel Karmel and found it really useful. You might be able to get it from your library. It helped me to get my head around when to introduce meals and when he should be having milk. It covers up to the end of the 1st year so you'll get plent of use out if it. I've given mine back to the friend who lent it to me but will have to get it back when T reaches the next stage.

We put our xmas stuff up today! I've never ever done it this early before but it looks fab. I think I've mentioned before that altho T smiles nearly all the time he hardly ever giggles...I've got a bear that sings 'Winter wonder land' and has red glowing cheeks and sways from side to side. I played it for T and he grinned and then kept giggling at him. It was so cute. He just smiled at all the other singing xmas things so I don't know what was so special about this bear :A (I love him too tho )

Nah you're not behind hon........I am just impatient and much prefer babies to be off the milk and eating:o

I personally would just introduce the food, and not bother with increasing the milk....As he starts to eat more solids he will most likely start to decrease amount of bottles and amounts in bottles....which is my next plan...increase food, decrease milk.....BUT this is just me and is just how I do things. Loads of other people will tell you different probably.

I have only in the last couple of weeks got her into this routine by upping her solids...before that I pretty much fed on demand and feeds varied from 2.5-4hours apart, but this is awkward for me to fit around school runs......

Anyway, don't fret...just go with the flow, and at the end of the day you can only go as fast or as slow as L will let you. I just have a gannet on my hands! I made a mistake the other day and fed her a jar of food while we were out, it was meant for age 7mths, I did think it looked a bit lumpy, but she gobbled it down!! DS2 was sticll gagging on lumps at nearly a year old...in fact he would gag on smooth mash too.........

    xx

nearly done! painted hall and dining room and have new table and chairs in!
Got a few more horse bits for kids christmas on ebay and sold a few bits! Turkey sorted for dinner and now im waiting for the gloss to dry on the door so i can recoat it (bloody cats!)
Oh and we have decided to have a new years party!!!!

Wow, well done. I have decided to decorate after christmas, need to re-gloss all the woodwork and paint our bedroom, the hall stairs and landing, and the kitchen. Well the kitchen needs a few bit doing to actually, I really hate our kitchen and need to work out a way to make it more user friendly:cool:

As for a party, I am jealous. Nobody would come to a party if we had one, so we don't bother...and no-one we know ever has them either:(

phew MDW Im knackered just reading that!!!

A busy few days but then I have days where I don't do very much or go anywhere, I can forsee a couple of days like that this week.

I've made puff pastry mince pies too! I did the rolling out and cutting out as I need them for my Bible Study group tomorrow, I've made a batch of orange muffins too, the chicken is roasting for tea tomorrow.

I got a power monitor from electricity supplier so I'm using my electric oven as efficiently as possible.

DH is working the early shift on both Christmas Day and New Year's Day so no parties for us, makes for a healthy pay packet at the end of January as he gets bonus pay.

No he's not a repair man fortunately :rotfl:

Twin2 must have decided that the carpet was missing something. 'Something' being generous pools of sick _pale_ so I've been cleaning sick and washing stuff for what seems like hours :(

Before that though we went to Tesco and got there right when they were doing reductions in the fruit. Got 2 punnets of strawberries and 4 of raspberries for 28p each :D It was an absolute scrum in there. And in the car park a woman got out of her car and started cursing at someone, within earshot of the children, which made me quite

Mel I'm not sure many people would come if we had one either.

I need to do some baking, you guys make me hungry.

  • I New Year Party wouldn't be a success in the MDW house either, DH's family don't like coming here as it means some of them no drinking which isn't acceptable apparently.

My family would come but there would be an argument of some kind.

I'll curl up on the settee with Katie, some snacks and watch some of the films that I'll have Sky+d.
