skinty darlin long time no write ... hope you're ok and your little lady is doing well xxxx

Yeah we're fab, thanks. :D Now she's not a baby she is not frustrated all the time and so now she is a happy child instead of a miserable baby, so I'm happier too! She is walking, and talks LOADS. Seriously, over 50 words at last count and getting 2 or 3 new ones a day at the moment which is kerayzee! Guess talking is her 'thing'.

I did think she'd never walk but eventually she got up and did it.

We're TTC number 2 now but so far proving hard with her still waking in the night.

Hope all you ladies are well. I don;t come in any more cos I can;t keep up and OH moans if I'm online too much and I only get evenings to do it cos Lilia always wants to join in if I do it when she's up (and naps just don;t happen!).

    Anyway, hugs to all :A

Morning all, just had to quote this as it as it brilliantly sums up what I think/feel:

"There might be periods in our life when I do managed to uphold a decent level of cleanliness in our house, do my wifely duties, and cook proper meals and engage with other people.... and then there will b periods such as now wher my biggest concern is pretty much making it through the day without crying.... and then periods where L and I are so tightly engaged/bonded/entwined that my days are spent fulfilling his imagination, building his knowledge of the world and himself....but I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to do all of them, to a standard that I consider as having consistently achieved them, all at the same time"

Keep warm and I hope you all have a good day.x

    Morning people

Well I scoffed lots of chocs yesterday:D I did also share with dh and gave a couple each to the boys:cool: I know, I know...but I always share everything:)

Another night of no sleep and K has now developed a cough too, so that woke him at various points through the night:( T didn't sleep well either...I am exhausted, I have managed to get her off to sleep (somehow) but K is trying his best to wake her up, he is banging things and jumping on the sofa:mad:

Just enjoying a hot cuppa and watching tweenies, before the older two come down, and the pre school mayhem starts!!

It is freezing here, hope everyone else is well.

p.s CAFC, I can assure you, I nearly fell over with shock when dh produced treats for me.....I can probably count on one hand the amount of times he has done it...and none of those would be in the last 10yrs.....We've been together 16yrs!!!

  • Morning! It's really interesting to read everyone's replies to Weezl

Off to softplay this morning. It's looking icy here, but not snowing. Have many ad snow overnight?

I've agreed to help at a charity thing tonight serving refreshments OUTSIDE! It's gonna be freezing, I agreed a couple of months ago when the weather was still warm. I was clearly mad.

Hugs Mel. Any chance of a nap when the big two have gone to school?

  • How about:

Hot chocolate (or have you seen the snowman soup on the Special Occassions board).
A funky glass/beaker type thing or curly straw.
A book or a two that accompanies one of the films.

    Morning

We've had a good couple of inches of snow overnight. Pic I took this morning for my friend in South Africa as she is fascinated by snow. She thinks it's freezing if the temp falls below 10°C!

Got to go to work this morning with a route of calls to do. No idea how far I'll get as there are various road closures and accidents around us :(

Taking wellies, a blanket and a shovel just in case.

Stay safe and warm everyone xx
Here I go again on my own....

Morning lovelies...maybe I should wait til I get to work to right this post, as I do so with frozen fingers! Bloody effin' radiator in the bathroom started leaking last night (look like there is a small hole in the pipe that leads to it? Possibly.) and so we think 'oh let's just turn it off for the night so we can still run the heating'...well, it's not very obvious what actually needs turning to turn it off, so we turn one of the dials and it comes off completely, spewing water everywhere and bleeding the rad dry. We can't get the damn dial back ON and the rad is directly connected to the boiler's water supply, so that means we have to switch off the heating on the coldest night of the year so far.:mad::mad: DH is fuming because the "emergency" number for our estate agents is a bloody answerphone.

You don't think they will accuse us of breaking it, will you? All we did was turn a dial - which I think is 100% logical in just trying to turn it off for the night. I think the dial SHOULD go back on, just need a wrench or something...

So, yes, it's quite cold in here - we're all bundled up in jumpers and blankets right now.

weezl, my dear, biggest hugs...I'll respond later when I don't have to rush, as it's something that needs a bit of time/thought in writing.

'amount of time you are able to sit playing entirely with your child- i spend about an hour a day. this might be rolling/throwing the ball, toys, reading a book'
amount of time they do their own thing and you read mse/pay bills/read a book- k is quite happy to play with his own toys and he will sit down and 'read' a book as well. he still has a short attention span, so will move on to a different toy/activity after a few mins. but he has a variety of toys and books to play with. he prob has maybe 2 hours over the day where he does his own thing. like now i'm on here and he's pottering about trying to get the laptop
amount of time you put the telly on and do stuff like cleaning/cooking/or also being on the internet- tv is on in the background :( but K doesnt seem interested in childrens tv at all. dont know if thats a good or bad thing yet
amount of groups you feel comfortable going to'- we go to the church toddler group on a monday and thats all although K is in nursery 2 days a week and has a day with PIL every other Sat

i feel guilty all the time that i dont do enough with K. and i think this is perfectly normal. we're at the age where K is too young to help me do things but is getting more and more curious about what i am doing. so now he sits in his highchair in the kitchen beside me when i am doing dishes or cooking.
