I'll second Esio - try Netmums, great for finding listings of what's going on. Most groups offer a trial session too so go along to a few til you find something you like
My mum takes G to the church playgroup some weeks as she goes to that church, and there's a real mix of babies/littlies/bigger ones - plenty for all to do apparently, so definitely worth getting in touch to see what yours is like. Do you think he'd like soft play yet? I've started to take Guy over the last month and he loves it, but then he is humongous for his age so can happily fight off the bigger kids!! Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
I slept in this morning so missed Christophers taxi. It did mean that we dropped him off and went into town. Got Amber new shoes and got the boys their big christmas present, an xbox 360 and kne..tt...whazzitcalled. Had breakfast and boy was it good to get out!

Depends what you mean by counting! Sorry, but do you mean she can recite a pattern (1, 2, 3, 4 etc) or do you mean she can count the number of objects in front of her or is it that she can recognise the written number?0

Ahh I'm sure Alice will do a fabulous job of entertaining
Guy has a 4 year old cousin who is so cute with him, feeding him, chasing him, cuddling him - she's the best babysitter ever, now, if only we could teach her the bedtime routine...
Just found out that our library do bookstart storytime, think we'll go there next week, see how long it'll keep him still!!
Ooh not sure I mentioned the other day, I picked up my free M&P Sport 03 pushchair, it's brilliant, I completely love it & all it needed was a quick puncture repair
Right that's me for the night, first time in a long time that Guy has gone to bed, in his own bed, and stayed there for more than half an hour, so going to take full advantage and watch some rubbish films on the lappie in bed with my lovely husband
Night lovelies x
eta: Boots has made me want a Brio ride on, http://www.boots.com/en/BRIO-Ride-On_1120693/ - how cute is that?!Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
the less said about my HV's the better

Im googling and off to try netmums
Gym -my current struggle is finding places i can take him to that are walkable.... I reckon another month or so and he'll be sitting up by himself so can engage a bit more with things....
And next week he'll have Alice to entertain him :j:j
Have you got a library within walking distance? If so they probably do a rhymetime/storytime type thing which is fab. I like it because there is a focus to it, so if you don't want to talk to other Mum's you can just pretend to be really into the rhymes!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

To be honest CAFC I go out because it helps pass the day. I find that the day really drags if I'm in all day, so I try to plan at least one thing in to give a bit of a focus. Often it's just going out for a coffee, but I find it helps to have a plan!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

I forgot to say Have a great time tonight Smartie - what are you doing?
How is everyone else? All the littlies in bed yet? We have got into a having to sit in her room while she goes to sleep. I tell her I will stay as long as she stays lying down, and I read my book and ignore her till she starts snoring. Then i finish my chapter/page before I get up and get on with stuff. I figure I may as well use it as relaxation time .
I want to start taking Izzy to rhyme time now. We stopped going when she started walking/running about the place, as she was too busy running around to pay attention to the songs, and I spent the whole time going "don't touch the baby!!!" at her. Now she is into singing and doing the actions I think she would enjoy it again. Not tomorrow though - NHS direct said I shouldn't go back to work for 48 hours after the diawoowoo stopped, which would technically be tomorrow morning, but I think I should give it an extra day before going to playgroups just in case. I don't want to infect any littlies .
