    :hello: MGEB :)

Hammy, when do you go on holibobs? :D

At the start of next week :j. How is the gorgeous Rhys?

A question for bf'ers - I am planning on stopping when we get back from our hols. Is it best to just stop rather than cut to 1 feed first?

Mel, OH used to wake me up coming to bed and it really annoyed me but I am used to it now! Brrrr, at the cold room!

  • Hi MGEB (I had to check which way the initials went then!)

Hammy don't ask me, i don't know about stopping ;) Someone else will know soon though.

I'm still feeling yucky. Not as bad as I was - only feeling slightly sicky now, and not achey any more, but now have full compliment of cold symptoms instead. Going to have another recovery at home day though - I'm at the stage where I could struggle into work, but then it would take me longer to properly get better iyswim. I could really do with going back to bed once Izzy is at nursery I think.

Question: I have the chance of going on a work trip to Washington DC at the end of June next year which is somewhere me and OH have wanted to visit for a while to complete our USA travels (My flights are paid so it saves a bit of money to combine work and holiday). Do you think it's doable with a 20 month old? I think the flight is 8 hours.

I'm asking Husband who used to live there and he says it's easy enough to take a child to the museums and lots of stuff for the kids to enjoy when they get there. We didn't find any problems with the flights when we took Molly to Bermuda, but she was smaller. I think a little rucksack filled with entertaining stuff and snacks should cover it pretty well.

Buses and metro are all pram accessible and it seems that most people don't bring their kids into the city so they're a bit of a novelty.

    Morning all!

Jenny, have been to DC several times, i think it would be fab for kids. Actually prolly one of the better places to go with a toddler! We had 10hr flights with Finn, so u'll be fine. It's all about distraction at that age, i think. ;)

  • :hello:Hi MGEB! Nice to see you over here.

Hammy- how many feeds a day is D on at the moment? H is down to only really feeding at night/first thing so I think I will just stop this over the next few weeks. Last night I refused to bring him into our bed, and just kept resettling him in his cot so he had no BFs.

Feeling very :( at the moment. Combination of everything that happened with OH, work stresses and Henry sleeping really badly. I feel like I've got the weight of world on my shoulders and I just want a break.

:grouphug: GISI, have one of these.

I was going to report that Finn has now gone a week straight without feeding in the night, but now I feel like that might be a bit insensitive after your post.

This house is a right mess, so good thing he goes to the CM today (last 'settling-in' before work next week), though I'd rather spend my baby-free time relaxing and not cleaning! :p

  • Morning everyone.
MGEB - great to 'see' you over here!
GISI - sending hugs, it's not surprising it's all getting to you a bit, you're having to deal with a lot - the sleepless nights alone would be enough to send many people over the edge! Is there any way you can get a bit of a break, even if it's just a morning to yourself?
Aless - hurray for Finn, that's great!
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

(((HUGs)))) I am not surprised you feel like that to be honest. Any chance of you taking some time off work?

D has a feed before his morning nap and just before bed. I haven't fed him during the night for weeks. I know he isn't waking for hunger so I just cuddle him to comfort him. Twice in the last 10 days he has gone to sleep without a BF so I don't think it will be too much of a problem *famous last words I expect!*. My consultants have ants in their pants for me to resume the scans and tests I can't have whilst BF so I know I ought to stop ASAP. It has only been an option though since D grew out of his milk allergy a few weeks ago!

Glam - I hope your week of interviews is going well x
