its only been since L's birth. I still cant remember any of it. I only know how it went because DH wrote down a vague timeline of events for me...
I have to write everything down, like when L feeds etc so I can calculate onward, else i forget.... and then wonder why hes crying 3 hours on LOL.... I set alarms for everything..... i could only tell you what ive eaten today (and all week) because its written down....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Thanks again.
It could be textures but things like pizza set it off too. She doesnt eat meat particularly and doesnt like it but does not gag on it, she just mills it round in her mouth for 10 minutes for every mouthful so sits at the table for ages eating it.
I have googled the issue loads but found nothing particularly relevant to her. I cannot find anything about the supernanny episodes.
When we got through the potato issue, I was over the moon. The first mouthful of potato she ever ate and kept down was such an achievement and I thought maybe I had cracked it and could do it for everything but I havent and I cant. There are too many to try and flood her with to the level I did with potatoes and that took years.
I honestly dont think she is attention seeking. You can see in her face, she desparately tried to swallow it all back down again and desperately trying not to be sick, she doesnt seem to have control over it once it starts though and I can see the fear in her face. She cries afterwards and says sorry, we just tell her nevermind, we can try again another day and leave it there. I dont tell her off but I admit to being exasperated by it at times, I am sure she senses my unease. She is not a big eater, food is not important in her life but she does love her usual foods.
Yes, she is our only child so unable to learn from others except us which is obviously a disadvantage.
I think because we had the behaviour from an early age and was so happy when I got foods she could tolerate so I kept giving the same foods thus reinforcing the behaviour. That is why I feel so bad about myself. She used to stay at my parents and the same thing happened there with them. Somehow I have taught the behaviour . She is such an easy child and such a pleasure but I have failed in the most simple of things.“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we took so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened up for us”

From what you've said she has a fairly healthy diet with what she does eat, such as veggies etc....perhaps sticking to her safe foods for a time may help and create less fear of it happening again for her... perhaps she just needs some time...
From what you've said following the comments i'd say best thing is to go back to your gp and push for more attention to be paid to the situation....
I wish you success with it though, you have not failed her..... be kind to yourself xWealth is not measured by currency0 -
