I've nipped out for a coffee while Amber sleeps. She is improving but has high blood pressure, an enlarged liver, blood chemistry going mad. So far they are saying it looks like a massive infection that caused the paracetamol I was giving (not an overdose by me they said I wasn't giving enough to do this on it's own) to not break down as it should. Common in infections for paracetamol to act like that. So she has had and is still getting a paracetamol antidote. Vit k and other stuff for low clotting counts and now phosphate meds??? But I'm not sure what that's for. As well as massive doses of antibiotics because her stomach lining won't protect her from pathogens as it should
They are still talking about transferring her if anything changes or shows up. Eo Leeds, Birmingham and central London!
They are in two minds, they hope it has just been a random infection but it could as well be something more serius or long term showing up.

Had a good nights sleep so I'm not as emotional but then again it doesn't feel real at all. Was very scary at some points it looked like we would loose her so well. Not nice.
Today we had a scan and fun bloods ( big bloods with loads of blood ) and pulled out canulas and know what? I am totally desensitised to her blood. Doctor put in a new one with just me helping and I was not fazed at all. I'm sure it will all kick in at some point. I've also been a lot more ... Confident... Let's say with some nurses. Most are lovely but a few needed put straight.
Also they made a big error with medication and she was overdosed with paracetamol antidote. Luckily it's not toxic and won't do any harm to her at all but I've had big head folk come to say sorry and chat ( and be nice so I don't sue ). All okay so I don't care right now.
Better hit sendbefore all this vanishes. Thanks everyonefor the vibes it does mean a lot to us. Dh was shocked when he read my facebook. In a good way. Thanks again.0 -
Liver infection. I meant common in liver infections, which are uncommon. Before I scare folk off calpol.0

It sounds really scary to a big wuss like me, you sound like you're coping really well with everything that's going on. Still praying and thinking of you both. xxMommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -
OMG, Tia - HUGE HUGS AND GET BETTER VIBES!!! I really can't say anything other than that, take care, and will continue with the vibes for Miss A.
CAFC, good to see you sticking to your guns missus. HV are a bit rubbish and hardly qualified to be giving you proper mental health advice. Theirs seems to consist of a lame little quiz - hardly accurate.
My OH pretends he's not fussy, apparently he only hates artichokes and couscous, but in reality there's loads of things I know he's not keen on. He thinks I'm the fussy one though cos I don't really like seafood.
Kitkat - hooray for T's nappies.

My Asos order came today and I'm very pleased with it. A lovely pair of jeans and a t shirt for T and a pair of knickers for me...all for a massive £1!!
I went to Debenhams to use my voucher. I got T one of these for a fiver...but the guy gave me my voucher back. I didn't go and get a free top with it....
I also went to hotel chocolat with my invite but the whole invite thing was a bit of a con really...still got a free choccy and have given my Dad the 10% off voucher coz he likes to buy hotel chocolat stuff for Christmas. I told him the raspberry block looked nice

Evening all. I've not read back, but I'm here just at the right time to send Tia (and Amber, and Mr Tia!) lots of hugs. You are doing amazingly well. Keep on looking after yourself as well as her. And keep us posted occasionally (if you have time, if not we aren't important right now).
