Hope D feels better soon xx It's a nightmare hammyhunter. A girl at James school is dairy intolerant and I was talking to her Mam about food for her when James had a party. She said it's easier for her to take a packed lunch with approved foods as so many foods have hidden milk or lactose in. Even things you wouldn't like of, like some sausages! It understandable you might have the odd egg accident.

This was me on Sunday...trying to make sure L didn't pick up cakes etc discarded by other kids. Luckily Liam will drop anything for a banana :)

Sausage was on the one that I didn't think of, but the dietician gave me a list of food to avoid/check. Breakfast cereal is another to check, as is margarine.

:( Tara, hopefully she will prove them wrong. My mother was told my brother would never walk or talk and would probably always need a ventilator - he's a bit of a butt but he's a walking talking adult.

    Again, Susan? Muppets :(

Maz, basically the new group uses the new FB 'group functionality'. So it's easier to use for chat stuff than the old gossiping group, and more private.

    Thanks Bruno

    Dear PTers,

I've been asked to do another £100 a month meal planner for a family of 4 but this time with an emphasis on a more typical lunchbox for kids to take to school, and more usual british family fayre to eat in the evenings, also with less prep involved than usual. I have very nearly built it and analysed it, but need to make sure there are no big clangers with it.

If that sounds like the sorta thing that might be up your street I wondered if I could ask some more questions about what kinds of things your children will happily eat in their lunchboxes and for evening meals, the fussier the better! I could also show you the beta version of the new planner for your feedback. Sami and aless have already looked, and the more the merrier :)

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh can I help?
I dont have a widdle one with PL but DH takes one to work and is the fussiest son of a bleep i've ever known... and plus i really need help with meal planning...

To give examples of DH's noob like tendencies...
no pasta, no rice, no melted cheese, no sweet pots (MADNESS) only chicke breast, no meatballs but will eat mince, no mash... to name but a few...
Weezl - I would love to take a look. We are only a family of 3, and I don't have a child who takes a packed lunch, but a hubby who does, so It's virtually the same thing :)

ahhh see like she said :T

CAFC - hope you get something sorted out with the dog. I know how hard it is to juggle everyone. Could you walk him with the pram/pushchair? I used to take Charlotte out for a walk every day with mine but they didn't mind walking alongside the the pram until we got to the field and woods.

Busy day and I'm worn out and looking forward to bed time already :o

i would however, he doesnt walk well on his own, let alone the pushchair and i cant hold him and push....
He is not a normal dog LOL......

Hopefully with job change it'll make things easier....

    :p

HV was non eventful she wanted to discuss my "plan" that i hav agreed with GP as i declined medication, so weird that he was fully supportive and yet shes telling me i need drugs.... to which i replied well gp and i agreed a two week time scale to see how it was going and then change if need be... to which she responded she would rather i see him this week, yet my appt is monday... dont see the point really....so shall stick with what im doing...

L also now has his 8 week check up, as last week with EYP i said he had never been checked as i thought i was meant to get a letter, and HV said today they do it during his immunisations but since you refused them he didnt get one....

    Backward me thinks!!!
Anyway he now has one tomorrow so he'll be weighed etc.....:rotfl:

The packet mix spag bol was lovely! Works out cheaper than dolmio as i used value chopped tomatos.
Lily liked it but prefered her apple :)

    I never use a packet or a jar - here's what I do:
brown mince in heavy pan or casserole dish. Add chopped onions and cook with mince. add a squirt of tomato puree. add some chopped or grated veg (corgettes and carrots are good and hide themselves in the sauce for fussy eaters!). Add tin or two of value chopped tomatoes and bubble away for as long s I can either on hob or in oven. If too thick add some water. if too thin, bubble away with lid off. Sometimes I add a few dried herbs, sometimes I don't! it's yummy :D

I actually prefer the cheap value chopped tomatoes - I find that their consistency lends themselves to sauces really well. LO also won't eaat expensive ones for some reson!:rotfl:

I now have about 7 pair of the MIL's unworn, size 5, Primark plastic shoe purchases to list on ebay! :(

well, we've just made it to a 4, but only just -not sure we can take them off your hands just yet :rotfl: :p

    Hi All

Looking for some ideas on how to get my 2 year old DD to eat some vegetables. She suffers a lot from constipation which Im trying to control by diet rather than keep giving her Lactolose, trouble is even though she is offered vegetables nearly every dinner time, she wont eat them! She will eat fruit but that doesnt seem to be doing much, its the green veg that she needs I think. Any ideas on how to get her to eat it? Or if I could try anything else that she might eat?

At the moment she will eat beans on toast, scrambled egg, omelette (could try putting veg into one of these I guess) and pasta. I do try and get her to eat a varied diet but on the nights that she refuses to eat her dinner I would rather she ate something than nothing because otherwise she wakes up hungry.

She has a bottle of milk before bed, cereals for breakfast (wont eat wheatabix) and a sandwich or something similar at the childminders for lunch, her snacks at the childminders are mainly fruit aswell.

    Think Ive covered everything there!

    TIA

    DM11 x

Hi DM11 - you could try my hidden veg spag bol above. Otherwise my LO really only ets green veg thta's sweet. i.e. mange tout, petit pois nd tenderstem brocoli. Not very mse, but I figure as long asa she's eating something at this stage (18-3yrs) it's better to go with what they will eat and keep introducing new things with no pressure attached and see how you get on.

 and welcome its lovely to see new faces on the PT x
