I see - that must be very annoying and awkward. Perhaps you approach it with her in a way that presents it as you being concerned about usurping/undermining the person who is supposed to be doing those things?got-it-spend-it wrote: »I still report to the same person. I think the problem is that she knows I am capable of doing things, so she thinks I should just do them, even though they are no longer my responsibility, IYKWIM? I'm not trying to be awkward, but I took a pay cut so shouldn't be expected to the same role as far as I am concerned.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Dear PTers,
I've been asked to do another £100 a month meal planner for a family of 4 but this time with an emphasis on a more typical lunchbox for kids to take to school, and more usual british family fayre to eat in the evenings, also with less prep involved than usual. I have very nearly built it and analysed it, but need to make sure there are no big clangers with it.
If that sounds like the sorta thing that might be up your street I wondered if I could ask some more questions about what kinds of things your children will happily eat in their lunchboxes and for evening meals, the fussier the better! I could also show you the beta version of the new planner for your feedback. Sami and aless have already looked, and the more the merrier
Dear Weezl,
We are a family of 4 with a 7 yr old who takes a lunch box to school but doesn't like fruit much and an OH who is so fussy he doesn't eat cheese, fish or pasta. The other two of us are relatively normal! We'd love to help (and to get some ideas too!)

Maz, basically the new group uses the new FB 'group functionality'. So it's easier to use for chat stuff than the old gossiping group, and more private.
Can someone invite me please?
Tara, I'm so sorry I had no idea - I must have missed this completely. I have everything crossed that Lily proves them wrong.

Weezl, it sounds like you have quite a few volunteers, but if you need anymore I'll be happy to have a look. We're a family of 4 with a 5 year old who takes a lunch box to school and I would welcome any ideas for packed lunches.

It's ok hun. It's part of DD1's family, no one I really know. Just I thought that seeming as our get well vibes we send from here do the trick every time I would get people to mention her. When I first posted they were told she wouldn't make the night so I'm keeping it up. Silly I know but anything helps. :AToo many children, too little time!!!

Ethelsmum seems similar to my little boy, he refuses to nap too - starts yawning put in either the cot or chair downstairs but then he fights sleeping. He sometimes can go to sleep after crying for a couple of minutes or on me as he did yesterday or the last resort in the car seat. Just feeding him again now, going to change him, get myself ready and we are driving to bluewater where I am hoping he will fall asleep on the drive and for me to get some lunch! Good luck as like you say makes them grumpy and you stressed.
EA good luck with the scan, just found out my SIL is pregnant and due same time as you!
Smartie enjoy your group, I go to a couple of groups and met some really nice mums.
Tia hope things continue to get better xx
I had terrible trouble with T napping *touch wood* he is actually keeping to them atm... dare I speak too soon! He wakes 8am and then has a morning nap, afternoon nap, evening nap and then sleeps through the night. I cant use car seat as last resort as he doesn't sleep in it!!! !!!!!!!!! He is wide awake... looking around happily... strange! He is also quite wide awake in his pram too...
Tara: thanks for the update on Lilly, thinking of her and her family, and it must be tough for you *hugs* hopefully she will go against what the Dr's say, as according to my Dr I wasn't supposed to live past 10... and I had no hopes of ever having a baby... hmmm strange!0 -
