Hi Susan, glad you had a good time but sorry you were coughy. I agree about the rudeness.

I'm throwing an intermittent strop - I can't get my sewing machine to pick up the thread from the bobbin and I was all set for glorious domesticity

PP1 I'm just going to write Santa on mine but I suppose it's up to Santa if s/he wants to be anonymous :)

Edit: 3, a few years ago I was knocked down in St Peter's Square in the Vatican ... by a group of three nuns trying to get into the cathedral ahead of me  :rotfl:

Susan, glad you had fun! Wish you had said something before going - you were about 15/20 minutes drive from me! Sounds like Alice was very well-behaved and had a great time. :D How're you feeling?
Still don't feel the greatest but the cough isn't as bad as it was - I had an average night's sleep last night but have a huge build up of lost sleep.

And next time I go to London I shall make sure I post fair warning for anyone who wants to meet me.

I'm glad Alice enjoyed herself but  for rude people!

The first time we went to Eurodisney L was 3 1/2 and was almost trampled in a stampede of elderly rude french women wanting to meet Minnie Mouse! We were the daft ones forming an orderly British queue!
I missed out the fact that I ended up having to walk with Alice in front of me holding both of her hands because people bashed into her. And even then she still got kicked in the face by someone picking up a small boy without paying any attention to where is feet went. If I lived in London I definitely would have used a pushchair.

Baby Lily breathing on her own, knew your Mse vibes would help. They had been told she wouldn't get through the night. Xxx

That's brilliant news. Keep fighting baby Lily xx

I taught a girl on teaching practice who was far and away the best person in the class at creative writing (and far and away better than me although that isn't saying much) but she had such poor spelling that her regular teacher had no idea how amazing her writing was because it was so hard to decipher so it's definitely worth knowing what area(s) need focussing on.

James was like that. School thought he was lazy, but he had some really good ideas, just couldn't put them down on paper. Once I managed to get him some help, his teacher was thrilled with the work he did, and he got a grade 5 (highest mark) in the literacy SATS.

    Welcome back Susan :)

I've noticed the south has more ruder people than the north. Hope this doesn't start a war on the thread mind :o:D

I've just had a strop in Asda! :o I only went for bread, milk, wine and sweets, but it was absolutely horrendous! Very much like Christmas eve with empty shelves and til q's half way up the aisles.

It was like that here. I popped out and visited M&S and Asda with Charlotte this afternoon and both were absolutely heaving. All the produce ends in M&S were bare and huge gaps on in the aisle fridges and shelves.

Starting to feel really sick with nerves about tomorrow now.
Here I go again on my own....

    I think I have a backlog of 5 yeras lost sleep. :(

Susan, I hate rude people like that, no need for it at all. There is nothing wrong with an ordely quewe. Glad Alice had fun though :D

Pumpkin carved, Amber is sooo grouchy and there is nothing I can do to help. She's not being sick but now has the runs and is off her food. She threw toast in my face, literally threw it at my face. I'm tired, goruchy and the boys are being little !!!!!!s. They are going to bed soon and I am lying on the sofa doing sod all.

That's great that he had a good teacher. I had a year one child who could not think of anything if he had a pencil in his hand. I used to take away his pencil, ask him whatever it was he needed to write about and then make a note of his sentence so that I could remind it if he forgot and could write in his book anything he didn't get down so that there was still a record of what he'd thought of. Unfortunately his parents weren't that interested - whatever level of ability they are you can really tell when the parents are interested as it really does make a difference.

I have friend from London and you'd think absolutely everyone down there was really rude and horrible the way she goes on about it. I know that most people from the south are nice but unfortunately it is often the rude minority who make the biggest impact.

Now I'm wondering if I've missed something? Is there a reason people are going mad in the shops?

hi everyone just bobbing on quickly. Really looking forward to next Friday :j No work in the afternoon and I get to meet my fab Mummy friends :D and their gorgeous babies.

Did a quick search on my name - hammy & SJ - nope still not sleeping through here! I give up to be honest! Thursday night he was awake about 5 times and then wide awake from 3am til 4.30am! I ended up sleeping on his floor! You just get used to functioning on not much sleep.

I've tried a new tactic today, we've been to town, a soft play centre and then for a kick around on the field. No nap at all - he's in bed now so I'm hoping he sleeps although OH is getting up with him tonight. I've just cracked open a bottle of wine and the curry is on it's way into the oven!

My interview went really well, I'm going on Tuesday to spend an hour with the current manager and meet some staff and then 2nd interview on the 9th. Also got an interview for the other one I applied for on the 10th with their 2nd interviews on the 11th! Busy week!

On the downside, I'm having my annual bloods on Tuesday because of the Gestational Diabetes and I'm worried it will be high. I drink about 8 pints of water a day and am still thirsty, really tired and some other weird symptoms! :(

OH and I having an X Factor and film night so I'll try and come back later or tomorrow.

Hugs to everyone that needs 'em, sorry I've got no chance of catching up!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?
  • Hi everyone, hope you have all had a good week. Hugs to anyone that need them.
No chance of catching up - you all talk too much :)

Any chance anyone could give me a quick catch-up? Or at least fill me in on some highlights?
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

It was just little things I picked up on as my ex was from down south. Like when you are standing in a shop queue here, you usually end up talking to a random person about the weather or something, but if you start talking to random people down there, they just look at you as if you're a weirdo :o

Now I'm wondering if I've missed something? Is there a reason people are going mad in the shops?

I've no idea. I just popped out to do something for work, but I wish I'd stayed home :o

    What's happening tomorrow?

    Newcastle v Sunderland match :o

Pleased the interview went well Glam and good luck for the bloods.

Molly walked, Gill's Thomas was christened, lots of people have been ill, lots of children have been ill or had bumped heads, ClaireJones had a car crash (she was okay but the car isn't), WM's dog had to be put down, Rhys had a blood test which had to be redone, there were lots of exciting deals which we missed out on by not being here, we're mad at SS's employer and mad at lots of people's OHs and probably lots of other things I've forgotten.

Not that I sat and read through the whole lot today or anything.
