we've been adjusting ferg and kessie's meals naps and sleeps gradually by 10 mins over the last 10 days, ready so when they go down tonight, it's at 8 IYSWIM? Does anyone else do this?:o:)
I haven't done, but tonight dinner was a little late so i'm thinking if bed is late too, getting up will be normal time?!?!
The big two have been sent up to bed now anyway. J is in a particularly bangy mood and is taking it out on the dishwasher and L has got her answering back mood on and is driving me nuts!:beer:0

Poor Alice!! Sorry to hear about your cough Susan, I have a bad one right now and can't sleep either.
I find students are the worst, I once let rip at one as me and Keira got off the bus, as when her nursery was in the old area, it was near the uni, and when we got off the bus, they would just swarm on like locusts, no thought to people GETTING off, and if they did wait, they were still practically humping the door so you had no room to actually get past. Anyhoo students all carry ridiculous sized bags and one of them lamped Keira right in the face and sent her flying back, didnt even say sorry, so I barged in front of them, bandished a crying Keira in his face and started going mental at them, and then pointed at every other smelly student at the bus stop and told them to have a bit of respect for people getting off the bus, it wont make much of a difference if they get on first or not.
I was  I would of happily swung his bag off his face and see how he liked it!0

Susan, I missed Alice getting kicked in the face I hope she's ok? I hope she's ok?
The rule here is always that the people getting out have to all get out before the people getting in get in. At the busiest stations all the trains have an in door and an out door so everyone gets out on the right as people are getting in on the other side, but at the busy stations with only one door working people will stand > < this far from the door and expect you to squeeze out past them. Husband drops his shoulder and ploughs through them if they look like they can take it; I tend to yell Vorsicht! as I step out.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

We were never allowed to go trick or treating. We used to dress up and answer the door and dance around in the hall in the dark with torches and sing silly songs.I hate it!
L has a real sulky face on because absolutely 'everybody' is going trick or treating and she's the only child in the whole world who isn't!
I've told her she can dress up and answer the door to people who call here, and we can do duck apple but that's just a rubbish idea! **rolleyes**
My Auntie hates Halloween because she is scared because of all the people calling at the door (she doesn't answer it). Apparently in the US there are conventions to indicate whether trick or treaters should call (such as putting your porch light on) so they only call on people who want them.
When Alice was small we spread the clock change over two days (so we did everything half an hour different to the actual time on Saturday). We found that was enough of a spread that we didn't have any problems and now she's older we don't really do anything particular as if she wakes up early, she'll play in her room and when it's the change the other way, she can have a sleep in as we don't tend to get up so early on a Sunday anyway.we've been adjusting ferg and kessie's meals naps and sleeps gradually by 10 mins over the last 10 days, ready so when they go down tonight, it's at 8 IYSWIM? Fortunately the impact didn't seem to be too bad so she was okay but I really think someone who has a small child themself should know to be more considerate.Krystaltips wrote: »I hope Alice was OK after being kicked in the face Susan, I do hate that people seem to think it's OK to just swing carrier bags at small child head height, Aimee told me a lady wacked her round the head as she sat down on the bus earlier... But it was OK because the lady said sorry...
When I was a student, if I was walking along the wrong street at the wrong time (so that I was walking against hordes of people going to/from lectures) I used to always walk on the inside of the pavement to avoid being knocked into the road. Sometimes I would actually stop and people walking with other people taking up the full width would still walk into me and I'd be thinking like what did you expect me to do - step aside so that I was in front of your friend instead of you? The getting on before everyone was off was another thing I noticed on the tube - I don't remember that in the past.Buttonmoons wrote: »Poor Alice!! It just irks me that people can't wait to swarm on transport before allowing people off, they'd get on QUICKER, if they let people wanting off, off with enough space.
Susan, curious, what is a childrens bible?0

I had planned to do a bit each day but in the end I just kept Alfie up half an hour later tonight, then up at normal time tomorrow, which will actually be another half hour added IYSWIM. No idea what time he might wake up tomorrow though.
I need to go finish my kitchen as MIL is coming to stay tomorrow and I don't want to leave it unfinished until after she goes.0

A book with some of the stories of the bible rewritten for children. This is the one we gave out.Buttonmoons wrote: »Susan, curious, what is a childrens bible?Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Evening all. Just having a very lazy evening catching up on Sky+ while OH is at work.
Lovely to see you back, Susan. It sounds like you had an eventful time.
Nice to see some irregular (or should that be formerly regular) posters around. I can't believe that we are now the ones with big babies, not the newbies anymore!
We had an NCT Halloween Party this morning that I helped organise. It was great fun, although hard work. Henry was a supercute pumpkin. I'll try and post a picture later.
I'm struggling to keep my eyes open at the moment so might not last very long. I feel like I could sleep for a week at the moment, but to be honest I'll be lucky if I get to 6am I should think!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator 0 0
