I did wonder. She was really upset last night that she didn't have him, so it might make her stop hiding him.
I'm tempted to make a rule where he has to live in her bed and he's not allowed out
Just read Twoflower's post. That's awful news and I can't begin to imagine what she is going through. Thinking of her xx
Hope you get through your list MFD xx
I would complain about the sofa Em. Hopefully you can reject it for a refund as it sounds really bad.
Boiler man been. He gave it a good service and said it should be ok but we need to think about saving up for a new one as it's on it's last legs
My ex fitted it as he claimed a DIY job would be loads cheaper than a proper job. He bodged it and it's never been right. The plumber said he's left it connected to 15mm pipe which was ok for the old boiler for heating and water tank system, but when he changed it to a combi, he should have upgraded all the pipe work to 22mm. Consequently the boiler has been running inefficiently since it was fitted in 1999 as not enough gas gets to it, which will have more than wiped out the savings by increased gas bills :mad:Here I go again on my own....0 -
GRAAAARGHHHHHHHH there is a local guy whose FB is constantly filled with stupidity and who I normally ignore. He posted this morning about a horrible feeling of doom he had, to which I responded, Often that is associated with a B12 deficiency and with the change in eating habits we've all made the last week or so from lovely salads to lovely soups and heavy things, you might be a bit deficient in it. Superdose yourself and you'll feel better. He's just replied to tell me that actually he is not deficient, he's a psychic and something bad is going to happen to someone he knows. Given that he has almost 1000 FB friends I am happy with the odds, but you'd think that when two of our mutual friends (real life friends) lost their fathers in the last month he'd have noticed that happening, surely?
Idiot. The times when I have had a feeling about something, I've kept it to myself. My best friend at school announced a pregnancy when she was 16, decided to keep the baby and everyone was bouncing about excited for her. I had a feeling that she wouldn't have a baby just yet but didn't say 'hey, I think you will miscarry'. Instead when she did miscarry I gave her support (rather than taking her out and getting her admitted to A&E spewing her ring like the rest of them did) She had a baby the following year though.
It's also stupid in that if I had enough friends I could post anything, or almost anything at it would be true for someone.Everything came... but its !!!!!! quality!!! I think I need some help ladies (and Bruno!) if nobody minds, that is
I'll probably post this on the ebay board as well, as thats where I bought it from, but I know (most of) you are more articulate than I am and better at arguing a point too!
I ordered this on ebay on 20/09/10, along with a matching footstool and a armchair. He said it would arrive on 05/10/10 but nothing turned up and I'd taken the morning off work to wait in for it as well! The sofa came 7/10/10 but nothing else. 14/10/10 I asked for a refund for the amount of the chair and footstool as he had said it would be two weeks until the chair and footstool would be manufactured, and I was worried ebay wouldnt cover me at that point in time if it didnt turn up. He said he had in stock a slightly different colour but still beige and slightly different fabric but still chenille, so what he would do would be to swap the sofa we already had for a new sofa in the slightly different material. I agreed thinking there would be no harm in getting a new sofa again
Today the exchange happened, but I am not impressed at all - the new colour is quite dingy compared to the old colour which was a much warmer beige, and ALL of the cushions are defective except one! One cushion supplied didnt even match, it was the old material so got sent back with him, and he promised to send back two in its place as a goodwill gesture for my incovenience (wow, a whole cushion, I feel honoured...) One of them the seam holding the zip on isnt finished and theres a 3cm gap, one it looks like its been stitched and then had the stitching pulled and started again cos theres loads of tiny holes in a big line, the fabric by the zip is frayed on one corner, one of them has a pull in the fabric and the others all have threads hanging through the seams so just havent been finished properly. Even the two sofae seat cushions are faulty, with threads hanging through the seams!
Now, I cant really complain about the colour, as if I'd never had the first one I'd never have known there was a difference. Where there are threads hanging through the seams I can probably very carefully snip them away. What I want is the defective cushions swapped and ideally a part refund as a gesture of goodwill for all the stress and messing around and waiting in for deliveries. How do I ask for this? Thankyou for reading my very boring rant!
Can you make a claim through eBay/paypal? I would, if nothing else it will show him that you are serious. Beyond that, no idea? They'll eventually ring and say he was broken down somewhere with no signal. That's what our bus company says to people when the driver's decided to skip half the route to make up time, or just gone AWOL. Personally unless the bus I'm on passes the broken one I maintain a healthy skepticism
:o
usually they are told to skip half the route too. :cool:0 -
I'm here but someone swapped my lovely, happy baby for a moany whingy one at some point when I wasn't looking so I'm struggling to get everything done that I wanted to. Also my door is still wet so I keep getting gloss on myself / things.
And Alfie now officially hates his Learn |& Groove. Seems he does not like being restrained.
I had dust in my eye at Twoflower's news
Such a sad thing to happen and such awful timing, not that there is ever a good time for these things. Sure you know what I mean. As has already been mentioned I'd like to offer a warm welcome to Twoflower if she ever fancies popping in to the PT for a chat, moan, whinge or advide and support. 0 -
Still no water... Just rang the helpline again and apparently they're trying to pipe in water from elsewhere... Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
MM if you would like some adult company (ooh er missus) and are free Thursday (or even Wednesday actually) I am free. You can even come and look at my lovely kitchen if you'd like! I'll be at ABC tomorrow but only for the first half hour (if I can make it on time) as I am off to see someone with some cakes at 10.30.0

Caz, my carpet is a very pale beige. Bed is untreated pine, think we are going for birth colour shelves and drawers. Pale but warm colour? Dunno. The ceiling is so low it will have to be pale or the room will look small (which it isn't really). Then I found a gorgeous deep grape colour rug, one of the shimmery soft ones. So I think that will be the accent colour. Just trying to find some nice satin in that colour for my table that will be a seat.0
