Anywhere nice Susan? We will miss you, but I'm sure we'll still be here when you get back.

I don't donate anymore, Sami, as I simply can't pump enough (or anything actually). But apparently I donated over 1 litre, so I am very proud :D.
and so you should be! :A

Thats sounds great Susan, Alice must be very excited! Have a great time.x
Thanks. Alice only knows we're staying with her grandparents and visiting her Auntie/Uncle/cousin - we've deliberately not told her the rest yet because she'll only drive us mad.

  • From blood.co.uk

You should not give blood if:

You've already given blood in the last 12 weeks (normally, you must wait 16 weeks).

You have a chesty cough, sore throat or active cold sore.

You're currently taking antibiotics or you have just finished a course within the last seven days or have had any infection in that last two weeks.

You've had hepatitis or jaundice in the last 12 months.

You've had a tattoo, semi-permanent make up or any cosmetic treatments that involves skin piercing in the last 6 months.

You have had acupuncture in the last 4 months, unless this was done within the NHS or by a qualified Healthcare Professional registered with a statutory body.

A member of your family (parent, brother, sister or child) has suffered with CJD (Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease). To view the position statement on CJD click here.

You've ever received human pituitary extract (which was used in some growth hormone or fertility treatments before 1985).

You have received blood or think you may have received blood during the course of any medical treatment or procedure anywhere in the world since 1st January 1980.

That's part of the criteria, SM.

I've eaten a whole bag of kettle chips and am wondering why I could easily eat my body weight in crisps but only a chunky thigh-weight in chocolate. Mmmmmmmmmmm...

You'll need a lot of water after all those crisps. AND THEN YOU WILL NEED TO PEE. PEE FOR USSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
i was given 2 packs yes ... sorry in part rant mood so spelling is bad ......... why cant i give?? ....

In case there's an underlying long-term problem caused by the transfusion (CJD, hepatitis, HIV) - there were a few cases in the 1980s where hepatitis-tainted blood was given to patients who became sick, and the rule is to ensure it can't happen again.

Edit: I keep forgetting to say what an awesome job I think you did donating milk GISI. GISI, I think you did an awesome job donating milk ;) *yay*

When I was pregnant I wanted strong savoury flavours and wasn't so keen on sweet stuff...

((((Hugs)))) CAFC you've been doing a marvellous job for your organisation and being a fab mummy. Hope you are ok, sleep well and join us again tomorrow.

:hello: Hello lurkers! It's lovely when you come out of the woodwork and join in :)

GISI well done, that is an amazing achievement. Expressing is hard work and I could barely get enough for a couple of spare feeds for my own baby, let alone a litre for someone else's :A

Hope Mel and the others drinking last night didn't have too much of a sore head this morning.

 and :rotfl: @ Molly's massive fart!

Susan hope you all have a lovely holiday :)

Can't honestly remember what else I've read now but hugs all round :)

    ok :)

I wasn't accusing you of being cliquey, just trying to stop other people reporting it as such :)

you didn't need a secret code, what's the problem with posting 'lots of us are friends on FB, we even run a secret santa scheme though FB' :)

I know how supportive the parent thread has been on MSE, but the thread was brought to my attention after some posts in the Arms which spilled over to the last parent thread and IMO I thought a fresh new thread would help take attention away from you, I can't say this enough but I want the thread to stay!

I don't read every post and was reading yesterdays posts when I quoted CAFC, I'd nowhere near reached any posts from today to know what a bad day she was having, I'm genuinely sorry if my post upset her, but the weasel comment upset me, I'm a volunteer on MSE and I follow the BG gudelines

I think the subject should be dropped now, it's off topic and also MSE asks that BGs (and abuse) decisions are not questioned on the boards

you may not agree with all the rules on MSE, but did agree to abide by them when you registered, so please can we let it go now before the thread attracts even more attention :)

    Glad x

ETA by the time I'd written this post I can see everyone is posting normally again so the last 2 bits probably weren't needed :)
