I know a lot of SAHM's who do loads in the school, and other volutary stuff. Don't know how they do it.
Buttons, Housing Benefit is being reduced/changed, and any new tenancy will be subject to 80% of what you would pay for the same property in the private sector, so in that situation you would be better of renting in the private sector and having your choice of area if you can manage th extra 20%. But you could end up in a council house with say 30 houses in the street and the other 29 pay £300 a month and you pay £600, ridiculous. From my experience of living on estates this will cause a lot of bad feeling between tenants which is a recipe for disaster.
How far down the country do you want to go?Too many children, too little time!!!

The lack of website annoys me, i had to actually call to find out about birthday partys. I hate speaking on the phone

Was a very nice afternoon, was funny when Lily and Henry crawled towards each other and seemed to touch heads for a bit.
Lily fell asleep as soon as we left and is now awake and has tipped my bounty pack everywhere
I just read about 10 pages just incase i missed the news! Come on Mel

Does that apply if one of the couple (me) will be in full time education? And the other part of the couple are staying at home to care for babies?0 -
I should think so since it's the Working Tax Credit bit.Evansangel wrote: »Does that apply if one of the couple (me) will be in full time education? Did anyone respond to poor Helen yesterday, back after many moons' absence? Helen, where did you go?? Isn't it your son's birthday soon?? Update pics required!
And, welcome back Kitkat! Everyone else has said the things I might've said about your difficulties
Thank you for the reminder. I meant to say how lovely it is to see you Helen. I've been FB stalking you so I know how gorgeous Ethan is (and your older two of course). Love your wedding dress profile pic too. I can't believe our babies are nearly one . It seems like only last week you were willing me not to go before you!I sent OH out with a note saying Bepanthen or Metamium after both were recommended on here, and he came back with Bepanthen. I thought it was really good. When V has had a really sore bottom, with scabby bits, it's cleared it up overnight.
Come on Mel, i'm very impatient you know!
OH has peed me off today. His only day off this week, and he's boogered off out running his friend around garages/home instead of coming shopping with me for both our Mums birthday presents/cards. If he's not back soon i'm going on my own and will not be getting his Mums cards/presents.
My mums only needs picking up from Boots. Has anyone done a Boots delivery to store before? The order confirmation email says i'll be emailed when it's ready to collect, supposedly today, but i've not had anything yet.
ETA: Kitkat All of our little chemists do A&P's powders, and i'm almost certain i've got them in Boots and Asda before too.
AS others have said, you get a text, but you know that now since you've had one!ladybirdintheuk wrote: »Afternoon al.... I'm happy to report that builders are lovely

Agreed, builders (and EA builders mate) are all very lovely. Izzy and Lily are very gorgeous and H enjoyed all the girly attention!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

bolls - I knew I had quoted too many people...will I ever learn to count to 3? *rolleyes*
Hello all - well my first board meeting of my new job has been and gone and they are seemingly very pleased with my first 13 days of work :rotfl::rotfl:Still, it means I can submit an invoice so that is good
I have also worked out that if I use the fuel vouchers that I get at the supermaket rather than throwing them away/forgetting about them then I can save myself approx £100 a year...which makes a difference now I am paying for fuel myself.
Sami - I THOUGHT I had been using kamilosan on Benjamins bum....but it is just in the same colour box/tube as metanium which is fantastic...MIL swears by metamium she's a nursery nurse, its a bit messy but sticks really well to babys bum and is usually still there when you change the bubs nappy so you know its working.
Agreed - it is like a super thick sticky old-fashioned 'ointment' so you think it is doing them some good!! My MIL loves it because it is 'the good old stuff' (that she has never seen before
)
We went into H&B and asked for ashton and parsons and they gave us the teetha granules by nelson. we didnt know any better so bought them but after looking on boots website they are alot more expensive! Haven't needed to use them yet, but I suppose if they work thats the most important thing.
A&P Powders don't touch the sides here, but Nelsons do the trick. Benjamin asks for one practically every night
he gets them, opens his mouth and shouts 'me! me! me!'

thanks for previous breastfeeding advice.
went to breastfeeding cafe no peer supporters there as its half term this week but was about 9 people at the group and they couldnt really offer any additional advice.
baby has been having small amounts of left side always offer it first and have at times been putting him on if I catch him stirring from his sleep so he is sleepy and doesnt notice!!
Husband got him to take 2oz of expressed milk last night used a dr browns bottle he did it after bath and I went and had a bath for 20mins and left him to it - he screamed for a while but eventually took it, I then gave him a breast feed so will try this again as really be good for him to take bottle as gives me some space at times also.
If you want baby to take a bottle you sometimes have to persevere with these things. Plenty of us have managed to have babies who take breast and bottle, and some of us went through the crying stage, but I also have several friends IRL whose babies simply refused...some people can do this but I wouldn't be able to. I needed the odd break
If you put a hot flannel on your breast when you are in the bath it might release some of the pressure (although it seems like a waste of milk....)
Well done for keeping it up :T
ladybirdintheuk wrote: »WM can you wrap them up at work and take them home wrapped? I've been wrapping as I go this year, it is making the whole process much easier
I am taking everything out of the boxes and inserting batteries etc as I buy. I will start wrapping soon as soon as I have chosen my theme for this year
I bought the 'That's Not My Santa' Book for Benjamin yesterday - I am SO looking forward to him understanding what is going on at least a little bit!
