As long as it's cleared each month like yours is, it's not really credit, like you said, if you get rewards and its 0% due to being cleared there is no harm at all :)

that's what i try to tell myself, and i do try to not spend things other than those i would normally spend anyway eg i'm now upto about £200 of petrol a month so that's 2/3rds of the necessary spend to get the reward.

Well back to it (was Tue) - I have my performance review on Friday so hopefully I will get some sort of pay rise from that - all of which will go to debt (even if it's only £5 per month lol).

Need to start kicking some butt and not be so afraid of parting with money - I'm great at not spending now, but that's not spending at all - not even sending money to pay debt, that is not good.

Will start today by paying 1/2 the money in my purse into the savings account with Barclays. If we don't need it by my next pay day (Monday - I'm counting my weekly pays as well) - I will pay it against something, either keeping it in there to transfer against O/D at the end of the month or against the Kays.

It's funny the effects this DF life has on you, i go through fits and starts of not spending a penny, or getting really angry/emotional if i do have to cough up some cash and other times it will just slip.
Good idea to put half on your purse money into savings. With myself i know i have to do that straight away on pay day otherwise it may just dissappear, i think also i am used to being skint therefore putting it straight away keeps the skint feeling there. Weird i know!

Well, can't yet do any payment transfers as haven't been paid from Job 2 and don't know when I will be. The other restaurant got broken into early hours of yesterday morning so the owner hasn't had time to do wages. Will chase it up today although I feel totally guilty doing that as I wouldn't like it if it was me - need the ££ though as I want to make a dent in my figures, albeit a small one.....

Right, I should have my money tonight. Fingers crossed ay....

We are changing the way job 2 money is used. Currently we use it as spending money so we don't touch the account, however, we end up doing both, not very MSE. SO, at least 50% of it HAS to go either straight against a debt or into the savings account, that way we will see numbers dropping. Next to go will be the Kays as have to pay it off before 12 October this year or I will have to pay interest. We have agreed this will be gone with June's pay (as need to allocate money from this month's pay for holiday spending money).

I have almost given up on the reserve for now, ultimately, we are paying more a month on the loan so it kinda makes more sense to still try and reduce the reserve but throw "spare" cash at the loan after Kays - will make me feel like I'm getting somewhere rather than nowhere really fast.
