Well my question to you was to see if you can provide us with a link to a netbook that would contribute to the OP's question as it seems that so far I am the only one who put a recommendation for a NEW machine within that price bracket.

My reply (obtuse as it was) no I can't tried to find a useful (reasonably current) machine ( without Windows/any OS) however the point I tried to make that any netbook of the current genre is likely to come with Microsoft OS on it , let the OP choose one of this years models with Windows XP/7 or go for last years with Linux or a refurb with either. The point I was really trying to make is MS = Cost + a quid or two, Linux = MS - a quid or 20.

Honestly, don't bother. The teen isn't interested in the OP saving money. She just wants him to go with her suggestion whatever the cost.
Just ignore her and she will eventually calm down.

Meanwhile, if anyone can be bothered to read past her hissy fits, they can take a look at what is available and decide for themselves.
I'm sure they will see through her childish attempts to portray the ACER machines as returned faulty.

    This is absolute nonsense.

Despite the lifetime you must have spent on here, it seems you still need advice on how to conduct yourself on a forum. So, I'll give you some.

    1. Don't call my post "absolute nonsense", you are implying that I am lying. Have you checked the whole of the 'net to substantiate this?

    2. Don't make comments like "Failing to see what makes that good value. Perhaps you can explain. Is it the battery life?" when the OP didn't even mention good value. He merely quoted spec and price, which Aiadi fulfilled.

    3. Don't make confrontational remarks about what people post when you know that your own device isn't fully working. I refer to

How about answering the question instead of asking me one? The page isn't working for me so I can't scroll through the options, so perhaps you can tell me what is on offer.

    4. Do not make insulting comments like "Your brain is taking a while to kick in, isn't it?" especially when you caused the argument in the first place. You may be the most intelligent person on this Board, but that doesn't mean that anyone that disagrees with you isn't.

    5. Do not give ultimatums for people to answer your questions. I'm sure you were frustrated after "Five and a half hours later, you still haven't managed to reply", but people have lives outside of the Board.

    6. Show a bit of humility. You give a lot of helpful advice, but you have to accept that it is not always perfect. Can you give us some examples of when you were wrong? If not, then I will produce one that occurred a few weeks ago on another thread.

    7. I think you should apologize to Aiadi for making the first insulting remark in this thread. You never know, he may also be man enough to apologize for the insults he returned, although I don't think he is obliged to.

I'm turning in now, as I don't want the rant that I anticipate to spoil my day; my team won 4-0 away from home today, so i am going to bed happy.albion2.gif

I do actually apologise to all who'd seen the insults here (apart from the person towards whom my ones were directed) and it is just unfortunate that this is the only sort of language that some people understand. I will now stop posting on this thread to spare everyone any further aggravation.

OK made your point , but If you are being honest try this thread
which of course you did not hijack (suggest you have a word with your counsel) ... case rested over to the prosecution counsel. ( I hate defending the smart ones but of course Pro Bono:D )
