Please stop feeding the troll before he comes with something more constructive than a returned faulty for £23 pounds less....

The OP wrote that he would like it to be less than £200 if possible. £23 is a substantial saving.

I don't think the machines were returned as faulty. They have too many in different colours for that to be the case.

As to trolling.... I don't think people will have too much trouble in deciding on who is trolling. I asked you for one piece of relevant information and since then you have been ranting and raving like a little girl. More than nine hours later you still haven't come up with the relevant information.
So cut and paste to your heart's content, but just hope to goodness that no one actually asks you a question about your recommendation.

Of course it would have been better if the thread had stuck to technical discussion, but where teenage hormones are on the loose...

Anyway, the similarly specified ACER D260A is available in a variety of colours from ARGOS Returns for £176.48 The machine is supposed to be rated for eight hours battery life, but there is no information on the Argos website to that effect.
Yep but as my post suggested, Hinchy(OP) wants to run Ubuntu and realistically he would be better off asking google/Us for said rather than "Netbook Wanted" . Sadly though he/they allow us (rather than google) to get annoyed because one or other of us gets tired of badly formed posts/requests and getting ratty with each other because someone else does not follow the thread per se.

and would consider refurbished as I know most of these are as good as new.

I would personally not touch a refurb with a bargepole (and as a result would never recommend one in the first place) due to previous bad experience but I could be unlucky. Make sure that you know what you are getting in for by looking on the net first for people having problems with the eBay outlet. Look for examples on the laptop sticky thread on the top of this forum, Recent examples from the likes of here (esp last poster):
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1480185

and see what horror stories a simple search on the net would return.

If you are happy with this (and the fact that is an ACER) then I would go for it as it is otherwise a good value for a 6-cell battery one (like the brand NEW Dell I recommended initially for £23 more).
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

You link is to a post for someone looking for a link to Argos Customer services eighteen months ago??

What has that to do with purchasing from the Clearance Bargains website?
With each post you are making it more clear that you have a 'bee in your bonnet'.

The condition of the machines should be perfect, their return conditions the same. No quibble returns within seven days of delivery. Their warranties are the same.
The OP can decide as to whether he wants to save £23 or not.
I have no idea of why you are getting your knickers in a twist over the question of battery life.
Was it really that difficult for you to reply to such a simple question?

Thanks for your reply but my post was not directed towards you as I clearly stated previously that I am not entering with any further discussions with you.

Actually it's the Emachines one I was interested in as it has the Pine trail processor, albeit with a 3-cell battery (do you know what it's running time is, Donnie?) The only other thing putting me off is that it has only 2 USB ports (I'll be using a broadband dongle), although it does have it's own mic. It also has n (((wi-fi))) - by far the cheapest machine I have seen with this.
I am already aware of the problems that maybe 1% of unlucky Argos outlet customers experience. I think I may have seen Donnie (or perhaps it was someone else) glossing over this by pointing to the good service and product that the 99% get. I do not approve of that approach, although at this price, I may well be tempted to take the gamble - admittedly, the odds are pretty good!

Nothing much wrong with ACER (my desktop is an ACER and I have had it for 2 years without a hitch) as long as it can be easily returned if faulty as the reliability is well know to be a bit hit an miss. Still a lot of people are not fond of ACER or their customer service (as is the case with most manufacturers of cheaper PC unfortunately) but looking at various reviews it still appears that Dell fares a bit better in the ranking.

Fair point but it looks like a flame war is going on , poor OP , never mind someone will help him to find a netbook with Ubuntu and good battery life, and as I suggested one without Win 7 or XP will be cheaper.

There are too many posts across the 'net from people stating that this is not being implemented, although it is not at all clear what proportion of the "1%" has been having problems.
