No you won't. So you're either mistaken or advertising?

    Their charges are :
You will be charged a cheque-processing fee of £6 and charges inc VAT based on 20% of any overpaid tax relating to earlier years that we successfully recover for you. If your claim is unsuccessful you will not be charged.

........... less than some, but still a steep fee for something you could have done simply yourself.

I've got my letter written and ready but does anyone know if the following address is the correct one ....

Send it to here, which is a new centralised address where you're not already in correspondence :-

    HM Revenue & Customs
    Pay As You Earn
    PO Box 1970
    Liverpool
    L75 1WX

Reason given at the very bottom of this link :

But do make sure you've got your Employer's Ref highlighted on your letter.

  • Hello all, New to this, recently found out that me and my girlfriend are expecting a baby. I have been reading alot on this site recently and there's alot of interesting and helpful stuff and I'm up for anything to do with saving money I just wish I found this site earlier! I'm hoping for some help with this. Reading through alot of posts on this subject people seem to be getting different amounts handed out to them, Are you requesting these amounts or is IR deciding on how much/little you get? I have to wear a works jacket with company logo + name and have to wash it at home, I only have one jacket so it has to be washed many times a week as I work with mobile phones and upon opening and repairing them theres alot of dirt/hairs/ThingsYouDontWannaKnowAbout inside them! So using the template posted on the first page what would be a suitable amount to request to claim back? :)
  • Hi all,
I work for Currys and phoned the tax people yesterday, thanks to this forum i've had my tax code upgraded!
However, when checking the form on the first page, there is nothing for Retail?
Does anyone know how much I can claim as I have worked for the company for the last 7 years.
I was going to ask for the full amount for the previous years but unsure what that figure would be.

Right, I'm confused by this whole malarky.

I'm an NHS HCA and have to wash my uniforms at home, I know I can claim for that. Whats this about claiming for shoes etc cos mine cost a fortune?! If anyone can shed any light on a)how to claim b) what I can claim for that would be good thanks :)
