Barwickpaul, the allowance should now be in your code number so you dont have to claim it annually.
Everyone should check they have the correct allowance, especially if they change jobs.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -

Its gone from 675L to 821L. They have added £1460 as 'early years adjustment' which is to be refunded through my wages, presumable on a month to month basis.
I wish they'd have given me a cheque.. much easier for me to work out my rebate and I have a 6% savings account I could have placed it in. I'll never be able to work out if I've been rebated the correct amount.
I wonder why some get a cheque and I didn't?!
Well, I've phoned them and asked for a cheque! They said it was too late as my employer had already been notified of the code change (not in April, they hadn't!). They have refered it tho..not sure who to, but I might still get a cheque!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -

I think the answer is no, but thought I would ask.
My wife wears a uniform at work at an animal rescue centre. We are going to claim for the washing of this.
However can we claim anymore for the warm clothing she has to buy and wash as she works outside. Also she needs waterproof boots?0 -
@awilko, you are a worker in the food industry so are entitled to the fixed rate allowance for that trade.
@ stphnstevey - your wife would need to convince HMRC that the warm clothing is never used for any other purpose than work. The waterproof boots - same applies.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
